Winter birthday party ideas for a 5 year old other than Chuck E. Cheese?

I'm looking for something that would have the kids interact with one another rather then them going off in their own directions. It also needs to be suitable for both boys and girls. I also cannot have it in my home..house is too small to accomodate more than a few children.

Maybe go to a magic or puppet show, bowling or laser tag. Maybe even a party at the YMCA with the pool and sports and stuff.

How about renting out a church basement or small rec center and bringing in some food and entertainment, like a clown? There are some really interesting children's entertainers out there.

You could also look for a kid-friendly play going on around town. There are a lot this time of year. The smaller venues often have really fun shows that often get overlooked, and they are directed at kids that age!

I know the gymnastics school where my boys took mom and tot classes had birthday parties. Also Gymboree has birthday parties that allow the kids to run around and have some fun but it is kind of expensive I think. Then again, Chuck E. Cheese is not cheap either.

Some hotels that have pools will rent you a room for a day to have a swim party. I guess they figure you need a room or two to change in. Call around to find out what their rules are.

They may enjoy bowling, but that may be mostly up to you for the cake, etc.

Some roller skating rinks offer birthday parties, kids usually like that.

in step with what your newborn is interested in, attempt to do a topic matter party. Get an elementary craft undertaking the little ones can do (as an occasion, if he likes dinosaurs, purchase some dino paint by using numbers or fuzzy posters or those beads issues which you place the iron over.) Get a pinata crammed with themed treats, serve pizza and cake. Play uncomplicated video games...the two ones that compliment the subject matter, or merely user-friendly party video games. some innovations are freeze dance, balloon video games (see who can pop it first, who can save it interior the air longest, and so on). make advantageous all the little ones are rewarded for his or her efforts and there is not any longer one "winner". i might say to no longer enable your son open his supplies along with his pals there, that way you are able to stay away from awkward circumstances if he gets 2 of an identical present. i'm not sure what forms of places are around you, or what your budget is, yet you are able to continuously look into hiring a clown or a magician, or some sort of entertainment for the residing house. as quickly as we've been little, we had a magician come and a woman who helped us make bracelets (my sister and that i've got been the two ladies, so the bead lady replaced into very exciting!) i comprehend there are some places which will deliver stay animals besides, perhaps attempt to touch them in the experience that your son is involved. maximum heavily, bear in mind that's an afternoon to your son. do no longer stress out over it, enable him delight in the day.

PUMP IT UP, the inflatable party zone (link below) has inflatable castles, slides, bouncers, etc. Check it to see if there is one in your location. I take my son here for the "pop-in-play" and he loves it.
