Cat interacting with other cats?
My cat interacts with different cats, very differently, as I would expect. Recently though, I brought him around a new cat. It is an older female and my cat is a young male, less than 6 months old. Although he hissed at first (usual for him), eventually they would both lay down by each other and roll over on their backs. Every once in a while they would jump and paw at each other. I have never seen him act like this and I don't know if it is sexual. He is not neutered yet and I'm not sure if she is spayed. Any suggestions for what this strange behavior is about?

I bet you did that too.
When you were a baby and your parents brought you to grandma's house.
I bet you cried when she first held you, but eventually you would relax in her arms.

This is a Demi Moore-Ashton Kutcher type relationship.
Find out if the female cat is spayed. These two are in love!
Getting a male cat neutered at 6 months is early, but somewhat recommended. Once the trait of spraying to mark territory begins, neutering won't generally stop it. If he's mainly an indoor cat, I would go ahead with the neutering. He is definitely feeling some hormones!

You need to find out if she is spayed. Are you planning to neuter your cat? They may be friends. Cats are like us; once they find a strong connection, they become fast friends. It's kind of cool. Is she crying a lot in front of him and lifting her tail while walking back & forth ....sashaying. Bottom line: get the both spayed and neutered and there will be no problem. Best of all, they will still be friends.

cats have a natural maternal instinct if you had bought another male home you would of been in for a very rude fight but because its an older female and ayounger male the female is reacting as if it were her own....
as for being sexually active you may find he almost at that stage the behaviour you are describing does sound sexual when cats go on heat the rub against one another leaving a type of marking a scent marking... even if your younge male was sexually playing he would only produce blanks up until the age of 1
