Does knowing an official at the OSU - Illinois football game is under investigation change your view?

The official has numerous issues pending including the fact that he has debt to two casinos. Did the very questionable call early in the game now make you suspicious that OSU could have won the game and thus go into the National Championship with no losses. Is gambling becoming a bigger problem in sports (ie: Florida State, etc) for college sports and its championships

If this is true than of course it would change my view. My view right now is that we gave the game away with poor execution on the defensive side of the ball and with Toddy B throwing 3 terrible interceptions...Do you have a link proving this?

Not really. I mean OSU is still going to the National Championship and Illinois still doesn't belong in the Rose Bowl. So even if Illinois loses then the most we can say is perhaps a better Rose Bowl match, but even then the wrong team would still probably be going.

Don't take away from Illinois awesome win with that junk. If OSU is a 2 TD favorite, they should be able to win regardless of one bad call. Gambling is a huge issue in all competitive sports, not just football. Whenever there is something to bet on, people will bet on it. Fact of life.

Ohio St was out played that day so no to the first part of your question. Gambling is not the problem, this particular individual should have never been hired in the first place considering all the problems he has had in the past.

Tom Tomzic was the head ref in that game and he did not cost Ohio State the game. He's not involved in any investigation of any kind. He's one of the most ethically sound, unbiased refs there are. This sounds like another OSU excuse.

This is interesting. I haven't heard anything about this. Maybe OSU would have won the game.

Source(s): Did Gregory W watch college football this year??? Not just OSU lost to an unranked team being in the #1 spot.

    no.

I don't know what play you are referring to.

However they still had the rest of the game to comeback and win. After all if you're the nbr 1 ranked team and your opponent is not ranked, you should be able to withstand some adversity.

yes, it is a bigger problem. doubt the game would be different. there are bad calls all the time blatant ones, not just questionable ones. it sucks, but that is the way it works.

    yawn

OSU is in a championship game that they haven't earned.

stop complaining and enjoy the *** whipping they are about to receive.
