Why is it that every night I come in here, the first question is always about Ron Paul?
Micheal, just keep believe everything the mainstream media tell you...

Maybe some people have questions about him. I have an example that happened tonight. It was awesome, I was at a newer friends house, and their kids had done their homework and left the laptop on the table. It was already on yahoo answers (the daughter must have been researching something related to sociology).
I clicked on the politics section, then the election section, and this was the first question on there. The 2nd question was also about Ron Paul. The 5th question was a derogatory question about Ron Paul. So on and so on. I had told him about "fatwallet" recently, and saved him $200 on a laptop he bought for his other daughter as a present, so he was a little more interested in the computer than before (he can barely use it).
Now, my friend was sitting at the table, and glanced at it, and asked me what's the deal about Ron Paul. This guy types with index fingers only, and is lucky if he knows how to bookmark a site. Great guy, but probably your average 45 year old Joe for all practical purposes. I've never told him about Paul, why did he ask? We were over for popcorn and a movie on their new plasma that they bought.
I asked him, how does he even know the name? Have you seen him on TV? He said no. Radio? He said he doesn't listen to it except for music. He hasn't watched the debates, and can tell me he only knows McCain, Giuliani (with epithets attached), Hillary (who is likely going to win) and Obama (who is setup to lose, especially if Jesse Jackson get's involved). That's four other candidates that he knows. He can't tell me much of anything other than what party they are in.
This guy is a local short haul truck driver for a shipping company. He said for months at his usual stops, he has been seeing these little blue and white Ron Paul signs, a few at first near a subdivision/industrial park entrance, then on a main road, then in different towns.
He didn't know anything other than it said "Ron Paul for President". What sort of confused him was, who is this guy, and why are there more and more signs around over his 200 mile/day trip. He said he sees about 30 a day, some are removed or moved, but it's about that many on average. He chuckled and said Ron probably has a strange campaign manager, he should be on bill boards, but that's not the point.
What amazed him was, he's been in a conversation by a couple of his co-workers about Paul, but didn't participate. Then on this site, quite a few questions about the same guy, but he has never read about him in the paper (about his only source of news, reads while loading/unloading).
He started asking me questions, and after a very unbiased conversation (I assumed he was already a Hillary supporter, and didn't want to step on toes), he stated this. He said Ron Paul is likely to be the "last" guy that is still a "first stringer". He did say he probably has little chance of winning, but he has never seen this level of support, so far before the election. He has never voted in a primary, and didn't even know how they worked apparently.
He did end up asking me more questions, and we never even watched the movie fully (my wife did, she was bored of talking about this stuff). The point is, a lot of people are just now learning about him, as he gets more publicity, either through grassroots, or the few interviews/debates on TV. Not everyone is a supporter, but once they see the record, and some of the policies, and read that he is against the war, it's not that hard to convince them.
Ron Paul's only problems are, Polls, and name recognition. Direct quote was, "If this guy is on here, all over [net], on the roads, and has an $18million dollar warchest... can I ask you? Why has he not been on TV? Why have I not read about him in my paper?" I answered, why do you only know about Hillary, Obama, and McCain, whom you already don't like, but have relagated yourself to picking?

People are passionate about Ron Paul. I know I am. It's funny for me to watch the people who bash him and his supporters. I honestly feel for them. There is something very exciting going on and I wonder what it must feel like not to be a part of it or understand it? I have compassion for them because it wasn't long ago that I too believed that the mainstream media was about reporting "news". I followed the mainstream candidates and thought I was informed and understood why I was voting for someone. I'm not sure now that I did. Even if you don't agree with where Ron Paul stands on all issues, you have to admit that the passion of his followers is astounding.
I saw one of his speeches and was moved to tears about my country. Where we're headed. What we're doing. What our legacy will be to our children. It was really a life changing moment. After watching that speech, wiping my tears and applauding to my computer screen I was hooked. I want us, we the people, to have control of our country. I want the kind of freedom that Dr. Paul describes. When I look around right now, I don't see that country. I think it's possible.
:)
If you want to see the speech that moved me. Here it is.

The truth that I'm finally starting to realize is that most people support Ron Paul. In America 2007 (OK, let's say it's already 2008) , people are fed up. The traditional party base in both parties has been eroded so far (due to dishonesty) that the independent voters will control the elections from this day forward. We're starting to think again, and Ron Paul is feeding us the information our minds so desperately need to make informed Decisions. It's called "the truth". We are about to enter an age of reason, and it all starts here. We call it the revolution, but I don't think even we can know how far it will extend. OH! The times, they are a-changin'

They're are just a bunch of people "Desperately Seeking Susan" There is no-way Ron Paul will win. The Drive-Bye Liberal Media & some lost hopefull's are pushing this issue in hopes of throwing off the Top Republican Nominees. Except Ron will only take votes away from Rudy, & McCain & maybe Thompson thus still leaving Huckabee and Romney untouched. People Give up on Ron Paul and focus on the real issues. Also did you ever notice the Democrat Nominees don't discuss issues, They just Discuss why they are eligible.(they're not)

Because there are people on this board that say Ron Paul more than rudy and bush say 9/11.
BTW, I haven't seen Paul's Christmas Message. Will it feature the White Supremacists or Just the Blimp? That would be interesting.

He has very loyal, misguided, supporters here.
I say misguided because they strongly believe that Paul has a chance. They seem to honestly think that Paul will win in November.
Since their beliefs are so far from reality and FACT, that's why I call them misguided!
Source(s): a thumbs down doesn't change the fact if current trends don't change, Paul can't win.
