Anyone have any thoughts on what athletes out there could have used their talents or size to be great hockey players? Think of any sport; basketball, football, soccer anything.

The ones that could actually skate, which eliminates most basketball and football players. Tom Glavine was a pretty good hockey player. He was actually drafted by the LA Kings.

Tom Glavine was drafted by the L.A. kings but chose Baseball. I think he made the right choice.

Tom Glavine (MLB pitcher incase you don't know) was actually drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1984, 69th overall in the 4th round (five rounds ahead of Brett Hull and Luc Robitaille), the same year he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves. But he chose baseball.
As for other players I think would be good, probably football players, they are very strong and could be good power forwards probably.

Urlacher because he'd be a great hitter, he would make a great defenseman. How about someone like Devin Hester or Eddie Drummond. People like those two, if they can skate, would make great quick forwards. Also Tom Glavine.

Steve Nash. No-look passes and highly resilient seem like good qualities in a hockey player.

Brian Urlacher would be a good open ice hitter(Think Scott Stevens)Ozzie Smith in the net with his amazing glove hand,John Daly and his slapshot.

Jim Brown was an All-American Lacrosse player at Syracuse. I'll bet if he could get skates under him, he woulda kicked tail.
