How sore is it to get the top of your ear pierced?

And is it much sorer to get a ring in it...as you will need to get it pierced with a needle....than just getting a stud in it?? Thanks guys =)

its not really that sore... the pain is over almost before its started.

its not really any sorer to get a ring in it.. i actually think its easier to clean with a ring.. because its easier to turn and clean where as with a stud sometimes dirt gets trapped in the back of the piercing causing infection..

it looks nice and if your thinking about getting it done then you should... its really not sore.

    A small word of warning!

I got mine done with a piercing gun and it didn't hurt any more than a normal lobe piercing at the time. After the initial piercing though i realised something was seriously wrong with my ear. Well cutting a long story short my ear was swollen to about 3 times it's normal size and extremely painful for a good few days (so much so i couldn't grip the earring to remove it and thought that the skin may heal over the top over the earring) but eventually it went back to normal and was fine.

I thought maybe it just got infected or was something i'd done wrong and got it done again on the same ear, again with a gun. Same thing happened and now my left ear, even 2 years on, looks ever so slightly different to my right one and i'll never get a cartilage peircing with a gun ever again.

    Top Of Your Ear Pierced

I had my cartilage pierced twice so I know what it feels like. It hurts does hurt but not as bad as you may think. The only thing that may frighten you is the sound of the earring penetrating through your ear, but besides that you'll be fine.

And make sure you get it done at a professional!! Because I went to Wal-mart and let them do mine and my cartilage collapsed and now i have this huge bump on my ear that looks gross.

ive had the top cartalige of my ears done 3 times and im only 14

i had one when i was 8 another when i was 12 and one last month and ive had one with a gun and the others with a needle and rings

needle with a ring going through hurts less

but overall it doesnt really hurt much

just a little sore if you knock it is all

but it depends on how tolerant to pain you are

    OK well

iv can People pierce it themselves (needle ice as in parent trap)

so id definitely not recommend that!

But to get cartilage done its easier 2 get a stud and my friends say it hurts like hell and throbs afterwards but if you want it get it!

not that much just more to sleep on but don't get it done by a piercing gun like you would use for the fleshy part of the ear, I cant stress more they r for fleshy bits of the ear only or else it can shatter your cartilage only eva get it done with a needle

It feels bruised more than sore. It'll probably stay that way for a week or so, having a ring shouldn't make any difference

well i can't really tell u cause i had it done when i was a baby but from what I've heard you just have to brace yourself and it would be just like getting a normal needle put into your skin

BUT it shouldn't hurt as much.
