Could you please educate me on the working of the Holy Spirit?

Jesus says when you come face to face with your temptations you are to recognize them eminently, By saying Jesus I am being tempted and Jesus will say to you , you have already bet this temptation by realizing that you are facing them by saying Lord please help me to say no.just whisper Jesus name over and over and you will beat your temptations, Jesus also tells us that when we tell Him we are facing our temptations that he "Will give us what we need to hear and do. God bless and Gods speed..consecrated standing apart from sin and all evil having characteristic like God,especially the third person of the Trinity which is the Holy Spirit, Jesus says be Holy like me, you read the scriptures daily because they are the Holy spirit that is how you stay Holy, and your children will also be Holy" those who stay Holy are in the presents of Our" Lords "Angels" Being Holy dose not mean we All want be tempted but staying in the presents of God,s Angels" we will always win what we face. And always be led by things that lead to Holiness...Let Jesus words of wisdom lead you to become Holy"

I can't remember exactly where these verses are but you can look them up with an online concordance. If we continue to willfully sin there is no longer a pardon for our sin. God will give you over to a reprobate heart. You felt sorry for your sin so obviously God didn't give you over to a reprobate heart. You still love him and he still loves you. And even if someone were to try and live their whole life against Gods will, if God touches there heart they will repent. At least that's what I think from reading the Bible. Though I believe some people have a hard heart and no conscience like a sociopath which might be what a reprobate heart really is.

That is a strong addiction - both physically and mentally.

I smoked for 25 yrs before quitting about 10 years ago.

Resolve and determination is needed. I simply got mad and promised myself that, even if I coughed up bloody chunks of what was left of my lungs, I would not smoke again. I set them down and I quit. The first few days are the hardest.

Holy Spirit is God's active force. It is what Jehovah God uses to accomplish his purposes.It is not within you at all.

Jehovah provides Holy Spirit to those who ask him,ie pray to him.(Luke11:13)

You smoke because you want to.

You use bad language because you lack self control.

If you are sincere in your efforts to give these bad habits up.Why dont you pray to Jehovah for Holy Spirit to give you the strength and determination you need to assist you.But you for your part,must act in harmony with your prayers and be determined to make every effort to work along with Jehovah.

Why dont you consider having a Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses.They have a thorough and accurate understanding of the Bible and they will be able to assist you in your understanding.

He is working in you. That little voice that is telling you that your body is the temple of God, and not to be destroying it with the things that you put into it. The only way that the Holy Spirit has been able to help me is when I spend quiet times with him, and allow him to work within me. You have to surrender to him.

Because its an addiction in which you allow evil to prevail. We all have stuff like that. A dark part of our life in which goodness and light have a harder time coming through. First thing is first, admit that its a darkness and you need the Holy Spirits help.

Imagine you have an electrical appliance in your home and you wanted to use it. You need to plug it in to the socket so that you could get the electricity from the mains to your appliance.

Holy spirit is like that electricity - God is our mains energy source and prayer is the wire and plug that connects us. We need God's power and the Holy Spirit is his active force which we can access through prayer.

If you are smoking and using bad language then He if you are referring to God or the Holy Spirit is not in you.

Walking with Christ is not a one-shot deal. It's like exercising. Little by little, piece by piece, you will be changed when you want the change. It appears you want the change.

For me, it was taking up reading. I have consumed dozens of books (C.S. Lewis, James Dobson, Philip Yancey, Philip Johnson, Eggerichs, Eldredge, Meyers, Graham. etc........) and each one contributed something to my faith walk.

Show God your intent and He will take care of the rest.
