if you have patience, but what you have to do is not hit it from the back side but instead roll it out.
You might call the automotive guy Mr Dent who takes out hail damage from cars he may be able to help.
To feel better about it beat the person that dinged it..
Oh GAW DO NOT SAND IT.. oh geez no. the it finish is ruined all work must be done from the back side. If you sand it only covering it with Duct tape would make it look good.....

If you can get behind the ding, you would tap it out with a hammer just like fixing a car fender. After the ding is tapped out, you can sand it smooth.
If your ding is too deep, your metal is already stretched too much to fix.
