OPK question?
I want to clarify what im seeing on my opk, but first ill give you some background information. I had a baby girl about 5 months ago my husband and i want to try for another, a boy. (please dont say just do it and be happy with you get, if i get another girl thats perfectly fine but my husband has strickly said only two kids so i want to maximise my chances for a boy). I have so far done 7 tests over 7 days all neg except yesterdays was quite close but going by the packet was considered neg. Todays is deff neg. Have i missed the surge or should i keep testing till i get a positive? average date for ovulation is CD 18, today is CD 17. also yesterday my bbt was 37.0 celcius and was today 36.5 if that helps. Should my husband and i try tonight and tomorrow since average ovulation day is so close. i read that the closer to ovulation you have sex the higher your chances are of having a boy because male sperm travel faster but die quicker, it is opposite with female (so i have read)?
I have also rang the company of the OPK waiting on someone to call me back.

The thing with opks is that your LH surge can be as short as 12 hours and if you only test once a day you could miss it.
I get my tests in bulk online and once I start getting a faint line, I'll even test every 5-6 hours and I dont miss my positive. About 24 hours later I have the pinching light cramping signaling ovulation...also this month I tried bbt..and sure enough I had a .4 surge the day after the cramping.
I hope while waiting for your positive you have still been BD?? Because there is a chance you have missed the LH surge but to be sure keep testing for a little longer. I have absolutely no idea about the male/female sperm though..sorry
If you can, test more often and also if you can try the bbt method then you will be covered and know for sure.
Best of luck to you and baby dust!!

Go for it and do the baby dance tonight and every second day for the next six to eight days to optimise your chances.
I have tried the OPK and had no success, I peed and peed on those little sticks. Mine said I needed two strong lines to show I was ovulating.
I bought them on line for a bit of fun and too see what was going on in my body.
I do ovulate as I am going through IVF and have blood tests and ultrasounds to ensure I'm ovulating.
So the day I got my blood results back indicating I was ovulating. I thought I would pee on that stick again (not the same stick a new one), nothing happened, then I realised I peed on the wrong stick, I did the pregnancy stick Opps so I tried another stick (making sure this time it was the right one) and nothing.
So some times I dont think they work.
Good luck with everything and I pray you have a baby boy.

specific this is everyday . Ovulation on day 14 is basically the universal, The advise selection, I curiously ovulated around CD20 with out employing o.ok.. you likely have a 10 day leutal section - which back is everyday. at the instant PG yet uncertain of dates by using late ovulation - curiously !
