Do you believe Clinton can beat McCain?
I do NOT:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/presi...
I have said all along that McCain is the most moderate, personally and politically resilient candidate the Republicans could offer. He is charismatic, The story of his Vietnam service is inspirational, And above all, he is NOT manipulative. He would never shed crocodile tears to win an election.
Has he changed some of his positions to gain the favor of hardcore Republicans? Yes. But most politicians shift political positions at some point or another. I do not find this as much of a turn-off as some voters do; I do not want a pol who just changes with each political wind, But I do not want a stubborn Bush type, either. Some pragmatism and willingness to compromise is ok. And Hillary Clinton certainly could never GET AWAY with criticizing anyone for changing political positions...
(Continuing my point:) At least Hillary would not be able to get away with it in a general election; Where just being a woman likely won't be enough to get her elected.
Do not get me wrong - Politically, I believe McCain is about as far away as anyone from being what America really wants right now - But I fear if it comes down to Hillary and McCain, America will go with the candidate that most of them CAN STAND; To put it bluntly. Rarely do Americans elect a President that the vast majority of voters consistently tell pollsters they DO NOT LIKE.
Generic Democrat vs. Republican match-ups show America WANTS a Democratic President; But head to head polling, As I showed earlier, shows McCain the strongest candidate and CONSISTENTLY leading Hillary (Which I think illustrates my whole point).
This is why I think Democrats MUST nominate Obama or they will blow an election that should be theirs. Can any of you convince me I'm wrong? Doubt it; But counter my argument if you disagree...
Fine, Bobbilee - You support Hillary. CONVINCE ME SHE CAN WIN and I will support her TOO. I just want the Democrat who can GET BACK THE WHITE HOUSE.
Hillary is not 'MY' Girl, Hogan - I would think that's the obvious point of the question I'm posing. I support Obama; Who opposed the needless Iraq war from the beginning...

Clinton can't beat McCain.
Clinton has little cross-over support and can't pick up the independant vote. Look for Clinton to only win the typical democratic states in the general election. If McCain were to win the Republican nomination he could pick up Ohio, Florida, and a few other states that the democrat would have to win.

definitely, ignoring my own beliefs, i don't believe that she will have the ability to conquer McCain. the reason being uncomplicated; the country has a tendency to be sensible. McCain is hated by technique of many contained in the Republican get jointly because he takes sensible perspectives and has a tendency to artwork with both activities for thoughts. Hillary is difficult center left wing (i'm not judging even if left wing is sturdy, yet she is truly a strategies left) and diverse the country received't probability it.

I don't think Hillary could beat her way out of a brown paper bag. Be careful of the poles you site... the most recent poll you linked to finished 12/20. This primary season is very liquid and the political landscape changes constantly... Those polls are so stale they're almost meaningless anymore. I like to look at the contracts on intrade.com along with the polls to get a better picture of what's going on in this situation. But looking at the intrade contracts has its limitations too.

Yes I believe he can because she is such a polorizing individual witout a shred of integrity to her. It fractures me that anyone, much less women, can respect her after sche clearly has stayed with Bill not fo rlove or marriage but for power. Lets get real she is all about keeping the Clinton' s in power and not about what is good for the country. If she trulycared about the country she would have told Bill to tell the truth or left him after he embarressed her and our country. I am not a McCain supporter though. I am still not 100% declared but I know 100% that I am against Hillary, Barrack, and Mitt.

Well I cannot stand Hillary, and I will just disappear in spirit should she win .But at least she would have only America's interest or should I say her personal power interest at heart,
not another continent and race of people at heart. God knows we have major problems of our own to worry about.
And, yes McCain would beat her, He has room for improvements also , maybe it just the part of America I live in But, people here see it this way also We are just not ready for Hillary or Obabma. They both just have to much baggage and making promises of changes they can't come through on.Then, you are going to have some very angry young people on your hands. Because they are all very serious about this election. Too bad the politicians can't see this.

McCain is for total civilian gun confiscation, and we know where Clinton stands on this issue. I wouldn't vote for either of these Illuminati traitors.

Nope.
And to those calling McCain a war monger, remember-your girl Hillary voted for the war in Iraq. She helped put us there just like McCain did.

Hillary is not going to carry the General if she is the nominee. I think everyone on the Left will be stunned at how bad she will do.

When you say BEAT McCain do you mean like in a fist fight? Because Spanky looks like he can get down with his outdated self.
That's the only beating anyone of them will be doing. Broom Hillary will not win the nomination.

I don't think McCain will be the candidate. He doesn't have enough money to compete on Super Tuesday. He would be a tough candidate though for the reasons you mention.
