Who do you choose????
When your team doesn't make the playoffs, who do you choose to root for? The team closest to your city?
For example, I'm from CA, so if SD and St. Louis are in the World Series,
I would automatically root for San Diego just becuz they're from the same state as I.
However, this doesn't ALWAYS occur.
I have rooted for other teams out of my area that play CA teams.
Is it regional for you or do you root for the team with more 'substance' instead?

I grew up in the Houston area and I will always root for the Astros.

Well, I like the A's, Indians and Cubs so if they were still in it and the Yankees weren't, I would root for them. But I guess it just depends. If there were a certain player or coach on a team that I liked, I would root for them.
I still watch the playoffs even after the Yankees lose but it's hard for me to really get into it. Like during the ALCS I was rooting for the Indians but when they lost it didn't effect me all that much. It's not how it is when my team loses.

I've always rooted for two teams. Mainly the Yankees as I grew up with them. When my family moved to South Jersey (near Philadelphia), it was easy to follow the Phillies. After awhile I found myself going to nearly as many Phillies games as Yankee games. The Vet was a lot closer.
If the Phils and Yankees are out of the playoffs I will usually pull for the underdog. In 1975 I was pulling so much for the Red Sox to finally win a world series. I know the Yankees were and remain their greatest rivalry but there was something about that Red Sox team that I admired a great deal. A lot of classy ballplayers.
All I want to see is a good competitive series.

The only team I root for is the Boston Red Sox.
I always watch the playoffs, but unless the Red Sox are in them, I don't root for any team.

I'm an Indians fan, win or loose. Last Season was awesome for them. After they got knocked out, the season is over for me. I will watch the play offs, sometimes I try to go with a team in the division unless it's one I don't care for. I have a tendency to root for the underdogs, ya just never know. =o}

It just depends for me. When the Cardinals didn't make it but the Cubs did, I rooted for them because I'm closer to them. Mainly for the regional thing. I also rooted for the Rockies because my parents used to live there and they're a good team that I love to watch.

I root for teams that I can like, teams that have a good team with limited attitudes, I also root for the Team that the Announcers are obviously against, take McCarver being all ove rthe Rockies at the beginning of the series last year, I instantly started rooting for Boston, then I was stuck when McCarver switched when Boston was killing Colorado.

You have to pick a favorite team and follow them. I suggest you be an A's fan like me because we are the coolest. We don't ruin baseball like some of these other high priced teams that just buy victories. If the A's don't make the playoffs which is essentially every year I root for the A.L. team.

I like the underdog; preferably the team who has gone the longest without winning the championship. I liked the Rockies in the '07 WS, and in football, I just want someone to beat New England. I never root for the favorite, unless of course they are MY favorite (Mets)

I dont root for other teams... I stick with my teams and I rarely watch playoff games without the Twins in them.

When my team doesnt win i still stick with them. But when i watch the world series game i root for whatever team i like the most out of whose playing. Its doesnt matter if they close to my state or not because if the cubs were to go to the world series i wouldnt root for them NEVER.
