Best metal for a mens wedding ring?

What do you think is the best metal for a mens wedding ring/band? Gold, white or yellow, platinum, titanium or tungsten.

Also, i was wondering is a tungsten band just cheaper than all the rest of them? Because i rarely hear of it

tungsten is rather pricey, unless you shop on ebay (like i am doing)

titanium is not as expensive as tungsten. and stainless is less than titanium, generally.

as for the golds... that's a matter of personal preference as to which color you want.

tungsten and titanium are harder metals and not so prone to damage and losing shape.

i'm getting my fiance a tungsten band because he does security work and is a vol fire fighter- he needs something durable and sturdy. tungsten won't scratch, dent, ding or lose shape!

As some of the other posters have said, be very careful about titanium wedding bands for men. It's very easy to lose a finger if you're in an accident. Most hospital and emergency rescue equipment cannot easily cut through titanium.

It depends on the color he wants.

Personally, I wouldn't spend too much on a man's wedding band. They tend to lose them. I know my parents have replaced my father's wedding band at least three times. I'd say go with a simple, but classic yellow or white gold band.

just a thought - but get something relatively softer metal like silver or gold. Men tend to get their hands into stuff and (strange as it seems) being able to quickly cut off a ring is a safety issue.

I know from experience when I broke my hand in baseball the ring finger swelled up a lot. The ring had to be cut off -

BTW, they can always be put back together ....

    just an opinion

Go with gold - white or yellow. His ring should match your ring of course, so both of you have to agree on this issue.

But most importantly, Think of your wedding rings as your love for each other and not as a piece of jewelry you wear. Being a hopeless romantic, think of circle of your ring being like your love; and endless circle. Perfectly complete and never ending and no breaks in-between.

    IMO.

Platinum is the best looking, however a gold band that circles the left hand ring finder (that has a vein that connects directly to the heart) in spiritually the best option (gold promotes love, affection, loyalty) plus unlike platinum which is considered a "cold' metal Godl is considered a warm metal and very auspicious for wedding bands, don't forget to have your name or initials engraved on the inner part of the band, very auspicious too!

Dont have experience with other metals but my husband and I both have platinum. It is a nice-looking metal as it is darker grey than, say, silver, but it is a soft metal and scratches easily. You cannot have it buffed more than once a year. This is the con of platinum. We are very happy with the look of the metal and so we overlook this con and still would not choose another metal if we had to do it again.

I got my fiance' platinum. It is gorgeous and lasts a lot longer than other metals. I think it is called a "50 year metal" or something like that. It has a nice weight to it and looks classic. Good luck! Here's a great website:
