Recommendations on dishwashers?
I am in the market for a new dishwasher, and have done quite a bit of research on several sites, but each time I find what I think is the "right" one, I find something terribly negative about it. While I know that the internet makes it difficult since rarely do people post "positives" but always get on sites to complain, I just get a bit spooked because I do such a volume of dishes that I do not have time to live without it for repairs.
Does anyone have a dishwasher that they are VERY pleased with? I do 2 to 4 loads of dishes a day, I have a three-year-old Frigidaire that is on its last legs after numerous warranty repairs.
Requirements:
Under $2000
Has a heated dry (sanitizing-level heat) since I have polycarbonate cups (restaurant cups)
Stainless steel finish
Stainless steel tub
EXCELLENT cleaning with minimal pre-cleaning required

I've heard also that Bosch are excellent as far as cleaning, however, they do not have a dry cycle. While the ceramics, glassware and metal pans will dry due to the heat retention, the plastics will be wet....any experience with this anyone? I am also considering the Kitchen Aid KUDU02FRSS which I like because it has a cutlery rack on the top and power zone at the back. It is almost the same as the Kenmore Elite 1313 except the Kenmore has the water quality monitoring instead of the cutlery rack. Any specific knowledge with these models anyone?

Applecrisp is correct as to who makes what. Domestic made machines (north america) have a reasonable number of part depots and many independent companies will repair these machines. Once you buy off shore (Korea, Asia, Europe) the number of repair companies diminishes greatly. (In other words, if there is only one company in town who fixes that brand of machine, be prepared to deal on their terms regarding time frames and cost. Also, what is availability of parts?) The Kenmore and Kitchen Aid that you refer to are made by Whirlpool so its a Whirlpool machine regardless of the name with different bells and whistles. $ 2000 to spend? Why not buy two so if one is down you can pull it out and put in the replacement or if you have the space, why not install two machines?

Good question, I'm about to dump my 7 yr. old high end, stainless steel Kitchen Aide dishwasher on the parkway for garbage pick-up. It's been serviced at least 3xs, motor replaced, and my dishes are never clean. I'm going through reviews on line, Consumer Guide, etc. Bosch gets a good rating, high end Kenmore, high end Whirlpool. My daughter-in-law has a moderately priced Kenmore which does a great job. By the way, we are empty nesters and only run the dishwasher maybe 5xs a week. Your needs are different than mine.

Remember that Whirlpool makes Kenmore, Kitchen Aid, Whirlpool and Maytag. I have a Kenmore Elite Ultra Wash, that I run once a day. I have put some yucky things in and they come out clean.

I heard kitchen aide is a very good long lasting dishwasher.I have a Maytag that is about 8 years old it has even been through the flood and it is still working.I use it about 3 times a week.
I'm gonna get a new one to this year.I think I'll get a kitchen aide.
PS: They have dish washers out now that you can put your dishes in that look like a draw you pull out .There really neat

I have bought all Kenmore appliances for many many years.
They last long times, Parts are easy to get.

Bosch makes a very nice unit that might push the $600 side of your budgjet. They are supe quiet, you can talk next to it, whisper even.
