Do you think the people in charge of the presidential debates are discriminating against lower & middle class?
Has anyone noticed that the Democratic & Republican debates could only be seen by people with satelite or cable that got MSNBC? I have cable but do not have that channel. I wanted to watch the debates so I could evaluate what each candidate had to offer. After realizing that I could not even see it I began to wonder about low income people that don't have cable or satelite. And believe it or not there are people with no interntet access either. Are they all at the mercy of the news media only? I think so. I have a theory that news media only put on TV what they need to help influence the American peoples thoughts and beliefs. This is another prime example of why I believe this to be true. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
I appreciate some comments that actually may provide me with more information on the ability to watch the debates. But some people (LT) must be pretty full of themselves to assume they know what I do or don't care about. And others are oblivious (B) to intelligent decision making and put too much stock in only getting 2 points. Talk about no life.

That is interesting ... but some of the debates are also aired on PBS which should be available everywhere ...

Although the last couple of debates were on CNN, and MSNBC the basic television stations have aired 4 debates this year, and are likely to air more if the races remain close and the candidates agree to keep having debates.

Honey that is nothing new all President's discriminate against the lower and middle class AMERICANS......Just take a look at the economy....everything is going up but our paychecks and people are loosing their jobs and homes due to the current crisis.....I am in the same boat but I do get to see the debates....You can view them on the Internet....

I seriously doubt you cared about what the candidates had to say and if you really wanted to see the debates you could simply contact your local party office and watch it with others. Either way this large group of candidates and excessively long campaign has basically put a nail in the coffin of presidential politics.

It would cost the major networks too much money to air the debates. Classes have nothing to do with it.

My theory is that the big networks don't want to waste valuable airtime on programming that the public won't watch.

Well of course they are. Everyone knows that. But still, life goes on. The flowers grow, the sun shines.
Thoughts on this? Sure do. Get a life.
