How do you deal with the ex's when dating?

I've been single for about 18 months, ending a long-term relationship. I've recently struck up a friendship with someone. We have alot in common, and went out to dinner this week for the first time. He's going through a divorce (after 18 years and she cheated). It's scary enough re-entering the dating world, but how do you handle an ex who's trying to cause problems already? We both have kids, so dealing with ex's is inevitable. I hardly speak to mine, but his is, well, a little psycho for lack of a better term. I'm trying to be discreet, but it's a small town. He'll call his kids to say goodnight, and she'll grab the phone and start screaming at him if she thinks he's with me. We were on the phone a minute ago, and she barged into his house with their kids screaming "get off the phone with your little girlfriend now!" I like him, but I don't know if I'm ready for all the drama. I feel bad that his kids are seeing this. Any suggestions?

If you guys want to be together, ya should have a talk about it. You guys have to be straigtht with your ex's let them know it is over and the only thing they should be talking to you about is the children. All four of you needs to grow up and be more mature about the situation. If there is absolutely nothing going between you and your ex's, there is no reason for them to be acting crazy. You either still with them or you're not. As far as her telling him to get off the phone with you, if he was not still ******* her, she would not feel like she has that right, baby mama or not, especially if they in the middle of a divorce. Anyway, if he can't control her, then you in the middle of a huge drama and i dont think its worth it

Life is too short for that crap. And it's not like this will ever go away. Say goodbye and find someone else without all that baggage.

Tell that bi tch to back off. Well, maybe you should be a woman about it and talk to her maturely. But hey, if she tries to get crazy, punch her.
