I think you should do a little plan...So when you go to the gym you can spend so long on something, say for instance the runner.. and then after so long go onto something else like the bikes or something.. If you work out what your going to do each time it gets you into a little routine.
All machines at the gym are great for burning fat and toning you up, Especially the rower, bikes, cross trainer and runner machine!!
I'd say do each of these for 20 minutes, You'd soon notice the difference after a couple of weeks, particularly if your eating well too and cutting out sugary snacks and carbs and make sure you drink loads of water!!
Good luck :)

I would say the treadmill. Running is one of the most vigorous exercises you can do. It is an extremely efficient way to burn calories and drop pounds. A 150 person will burn approximately 100 calories per mile when running. It also tones up all the muscles in the body.
Incorporating speed work or interval training (running at a very fast speed for short intervals of time) into your running on the treadmill routine. Speed work burns a great amount calories in a short period of time. You will also increase your muscle mass and improve your resting metabolism, causing you to burn more calories throughout the day.
Try a routine of a warm up of walking for 4 minutes, then at gentle jog for 3 minutes, then a fast jog for 1 minute, then a gentle jog for 3 minutes, then walk for 1 minute, and then a gentle jog for 3 minutes, then fast jog for 1 minute and repeat the cycle for as long as you can.
But keep in mind that you will only shed pounds, if you burn more calories than you consume. To lose a pound, you have to burn, through exercise or life functions about 3,500 calories. So you will also need to follow a healthy diet.
I know this works. I managed to lose 48lbs in just over 5 months.

Well, the pool is the best, hands down.
But if you don't have one the treadmill is a distant second, I run 5mi. at 7.5mph, but you might want to start with 4 miles at 6mph and work your way up to that, I'm not sure what your fitness level is now.
If it's easy, it's probably not worth doing, remember that when you go to hop on a stationary bike or an elliptical, treadmill is much better.

i'd go with the cross trainer, your using every muscle on that although any cardio will burn off the calories, do as much as you can without killing yourself, build up your fitness gradually stretching an extra 5 minutes each week. Good luck

Bikes, treadmills anything really that gives you a sweat. Just be sure to throw in some light resistance training if you really want to burn the fat.
