Hi! My friend just got married last month and the song, "GIVE YOU AWAY" that she used for her Father-Daughter dance was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard! Everyone at the reception was so moved by it. I had to get a copy for myself so I got the info.

Apparantly, the duet was written by an independent artist which is why I've never heard it played (kind of nice since so many of the father-daughter songs are overused). Anyway, here's the info for you. I promise, you won't be disappointed!

How about "My Father's Eyes" by Eric Clapton?

Or "She's Leaving Home" by the Beatles (it is on Sgt. Pepper)?

My father and I actually danced to "Rainbow Connection" from the Muppet movie.

This site has a lot of suggestions:

How about In My Life by the Beatles?

Or another beatles song that I love is Across the Universe.

How about one of the following:

"In My Life" by The Beatles

    "Wild World" by Cat Stevens

"Daughter" by Loudon Wainwright III (from the movie Knocked Up)

    Good Luck!

Im doing the same thing...I picked there you'll be- By Faith Hill..

Listen to the song and read the lyrics at the same time.

    ~When I think back

    On these times

    And the dreams

    We left behind

    I'll be glad 'cause

    I was blessed to get

To have you in my life

    When I look back

    On these days

I'll look and see your face

You were right there for me

    In my dreams

    I'll always see you soar

    Above the sky

    In my heart

    There always be a place

For you for all my life

    I'll keep a part

    Of you with me

    And everywhere I am

    There you'll be

    Well you showed me

    How it feels

    To feel the sky

    Within my reach

    And I always

    Will remember all

    The strength you

    Gave to me

    Your love made me

    Make it through

Oh, I owe so much to you

You were right there for me

    In my dreams

    I'll always see you soar

    Above the sky

    In my heart

    There always be a place

For you for all my life

    I'll keep a part

    Of you with me

    And everywhere I am

    There you'll be

'Cause I always saw in you

    My light, my strength

And I want to thank you

    Now for all the ways

You were right there for me

You were right there for me

    For always

    In my dreams

    I'll always see you soar

    Above the sky

    In my heart

    There always be a place

For you for all my life

    I'll keep a part

    Of you with me

    And everywhere I am

    There you'll be

    I wish you luck!!

A good one from the Beatles is "In My Life". I also found a song called "She's Leaving Home" about a girl leaving her parents' house to be with her guy.

There is a new song about dancing with cinderella on Christian radio stations. It is called Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman. You can hear a little bit on www.klove.com. It makes my husband tear up when he hears it and thinks about our daughter someday leaving the house and getting married.

I danced to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. It's kinda long, but I love the lyrics and I think it said exactly what I wanted it to say. I'm very close to my parents and I felt that song was perfect.

Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler, or there is a newer counry song called "Stealing Cinderella".. I don't know who sings it though. There is also the classic " Daddy's Little Girl".

    Congratulations and good luck!!

The shong is called Your Joy by Chrisette Michele. It is the perfect song. You can find it on iTunes.

    Walked down the sidewalk

    Staring at your feet

    Wishing my steps were longer

So by your sides I could keep

    Hold your hand much bigger

    Never wanted mine to grow

So I could always feel perfect

    Inside your palms just so

No one loves me just like you do

No one knows me just like you do

No one can compare to way my eyes fit in yours

    You'll always be my father

And I'll always be your joy

    Laid me on your belly

    Nights when mama wasn't home

    Lightning made me shiver

And you never let me feel alone

I tried to match your breathing

Beating my little heart against yours

Perfect were the nights we were sleeping

I never want to end what we are

'Cause No one loves me just like you do

And no one knows me just like you do

No one can compare to the way my eyes fit in yours

    You'll always be my father

And I'll always be your joy

One day he'll come on bended knee

And ask my love away from thee

And when I give my love to him

He'll always have a place within

One day he'll come on bended knee

And ask my love away from thee

And when I give my love to him

He'll always have a place within

No one loves me just like you do

No one knows me just like you do

No one can compare to the way my eyes fit in yours

    You'll always be my father

And I'll always be your joy.
