Is there a good way to store beer?

My Husband and I hosted a superbowl party this weekend. Just looking at my calender the next party we have that may include beer might be the Independance day. Is there a good way to store beer other than the fridge for that long.(If this was 10 years ago this question wouldn't even cross our minds, now that we are older we tend not to drink as often.) I do drink wine and store in the cellar would that be ok there?or does it need to be refridgerated.

Update:

in belly ha ha as I said if it was 10 years ago that's probably where it would be. but we aren't really big drinkers anymore

Update 2:

I think I will store them down there. the light down there is rarely on unless I am down there and the temp is a steady cool temp year round(never freezes either) that's why i store my wines down there. I may keep one or 2 in the fridge so hubby can have them cold but for the rest the celler it is. I have only one fridge(used to have 2 because we used to keep beer, I sold it because we don't anymore)

Temperature change won't affect it, unless your going from one EXTREME to another.

The cellar should be perfect, assuming it's already under proper conditions for storing wine. I have a beer cellar that is cool (roughly 58deg F year-round) and dark (no windows, one low-watt lightbulb that is rarely on).

The enemies of beer are light and extreme changes in temperature, same as wine.

The hot to cold to hot to cold IS AN ABSOLUTE BEER MYTH, stop spreading this nonsense. If you take a beer from frozen to boiling to frozen to boiling then you may be on to something but standard temperature fluctuations have no adverse affect on beer.

Simply store the beer out of the way and out of the light and it will be fine.

If you plan to age certain beer styles then it's generally best to store them at cellaring temperatures like you would with wine but Superbowl beer generally does not fall in to this category.

I would say you can store it in the cellar no problem. I just wouldn't take it from hot to cold to hot you know. Keep it one temp or the other and it will be fine.

If you can't decide just consume that and buy more later, lol.

    Good luck.

Depends on the beer but most should be fine. just keep it in a dark, cool room.
