Dimmer Switch Help!!!?

Where is the dimmer switch located on a 1979 Pontiac Firebird? What are the instructions on how to remove the old one and install the new one? I have all the needed parts, now I just need to do the job. Best answerer will be awarded points! Thanks in advance! ;)

Dimmer switch is on the turn signal arm correct? If it is then remove the lower dash cover and it is on the steering column underneath on the drivers side. Two 9/32 screws hold it on and there is a rod that goes in the middle and a wire harness that clips on. The rod goes from the turn signal arm down to the switch. Hope this helps.

Afraid I haven't worked on that car but, on American cars there's only two possibilities. The old ones had the switch on the floor, left of the brake almost against the kick panel. Not sure what year exactly they changed but the change was to move it to the turn signal stalk and there it's been ever since.

if its not on the floor, then its bolted on the steering column under the dash. there is a wiring harness, unhook it and then you will see a rod going to it, unhook it and install the new 1, at least the ones i worked on are like that.
