I have a 1979 Firebird. Having trouble with the headlights, they don't work at all. Replaced the switch itself...nothing. The rear lights and the parking lights work flawlessly...just no headlights. Any help is greatly appreciated! Best answer will be awarded with points.

I recently purchased a Sony Xplod stereo system for my 1979 Pontiac Firebird. I need some help here. I have attempted to install the stereo with no success. I am not getting the unit to power on. I originally hooked the stereo up in the car and received no response from it, I then proceeded to manually hook it up to the car's battery to test for power. Even when hooked up to the battery itself, I received no response from the stereo unit. The fuse in the back of the unit is NOT blown either, already checked. I have been driving my older car. Yes, it's from 1981. I have noticed that when I press the brakes, the pedal is very spongy. I drove the car yesterday and it stops but it takes more time and effort. I was at a stoplight yesterday and I had the brake pedal pressed. All of the sudden, it felt as if it lost pressure. The brake pedal continued to move to the floor and the car began to move again. I then let off of the pedal and pressed it again to build up pressure. The car stopped. What can be wrong? I changed the back brake cylinders a few months ago. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I need to know how to bleed the pressure off of the brake cylinder to put new brake pads on. We've already bled the brake fluid off and used a C clamp to push the cylinder back in but it wouldn't budge. It's for a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL with disk brakes.

I own a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am. I am currently having problems. I drove the car today and it quit right in the middle of the road. I then tried to start the car but it would not fire up. After waiting a few minutes, I started the car and it fired but, it was sputtering really bad. As I was trying to make it home, the car would drop rpms to about 1,000. I pushed the accelerator to the floor and the car bearly chugged along. I could not go over 5 mph until it quit again. I eventually made it to my street but had to push the car all the way down the street in front of my house. What seems to be the problem here?

I have recently heard that a Firebird/Trans Am is not a muscle car. They are considered "pony cars" such as the Mustang is with Ford. They say that a muscle car would be such as the Chevelle. So, is it really true that my Firebird is not a muscle car?
