My Secret Weapon?

Jews and Muslims are locked in seemingly perpetual dispute on this site over who this ancient land belongs to. Then along comes a religious Christian, who Jews hate because they fear he is trying to convert them, and Muslims hate because they see him as a Zionist crusader.

But I have a secret weapon to promote religious harmony on this site, because I have a friend who is a lesbian paganist. To me she's just a nice girl, but to many of you no doubt she is an idolatrous and perverted Satan worshipper, and so I guess she might be just perfect for uniting all three religions together?

you've almost hit the nail on the head. if you remember, during the last two years the thing that did bring jewish, muslim and christian clerics and fanatics together was their hate and fear regarding gay pride.

so it's either that, or aliens landing on temple mount that will make people here join hands.

Things aren't complicated enough, that adding another interest group into the mix will be an improvement?

Or are you offering her up as a scapegoat? Some "friend" you are.

Jews wouldn't sign up to hate her, anyway. And I think you've misunderstood her religion a lot.

If there is an answer to the political and ownership problems of the Middle East, it isn't to be found in uniting people with a common hatred.

Also, Jews don't hate religious Christians. We are just wary of being evangelical targets.

I know you were aiming at humor, but every line of your question is marinated in hate, so the humor gets soured.

Thank you for your question and the opportunity to explain our views.

Jews don't hate anyone because of who they ARE. That was Hitler in the Christian European neighborhood that slaughtered people simply for BEING. You won't find a single incident of Israelis killing others simply for the pleasure of it.

Jews have learned from the many instances of attempted genocides over the centuries by those who called themselves Christian, that we must speak out loudly and forcefully at the first sign of discrimination. For the first time in 2000 years, Jews have become a majority in one place on earth. They cannot allow others to operate deceitfully by trying to convert secular Jews.

Jews don't believe that what a person THINKS has anything at all to do with what may come in the afterlife. It is one's ACTIONS that determine one's fate. Idolatry is forbidden to Jews. We don't condemn others for idolatry. We don't believe satan has equal powers to God, but we don't condemn those who do. Jews do not condone homosexuality, but we don't forbid others from practicing it.

History tells us that it is Christianity that has the problem with hatred -- not Jews or pagans.

hehehe, but it's uniting through hate is there a way to unite with love? hehehe because i think if u unite with hate the next thing to happen is once u get rid of the thing u hate- u start thinking it's ok to get rid of things u hate, and even if u united once u didn't build a platform for the next ppl so i think the hate just moves on, but maybe u r right maybe if u unite once it keeps lasting i donnow, what i do know is that it's an interesting thesis- thanks. i think the best way to unite religions is through talking to each other- and having combined social affairs - but i don't think any religion would want that :( - but i'll try to stay positive and say maybe :) it might happen if we try it. so now i do think religions would want it maybe not today but maybe in the future.

I would only like to say that religious Christians don't try to convert anyone (unless they are extreme). It's the (extreme) Evangelists that do.

I respect all people and their beliefs from Pagan to Hindu from Jewish to Muslim from Budda to ....you get my point.

Pagans are not Satan worshippers they believe in mother earth and thus all things natural. Go ahead and give it a try. Introduce her. But I think this section is too long gone for.....Peace!

Interesting thought, but we want to neutralize our tendancies towards hatred of others, not give them a new path for expression, no?

I disagree. I'm Jewish and I have a lot of sympathy for Pagans, because like us, they are perpetually misunderstood. They're accused of having beliefs that they don't have, and of all manner of horrible things!

    Nice try, though :)
