Looking for young adult sf/f book suggestions?
I am running out of good young adult science fiction/fantasy to read, and I am hoping to get some suggestions. I am not really intersted in books based on European history or legend unless they are very unique.
I'm primarily interested in multicultural works-- in general, non-white main characters, settings other than quasi-medieval Europe. Think of Nancy Farmer's books, one set in futuristic Zimbabwe, another set in a futuristic country between the US and Mexico.
Mostly looking for science fiction and fantasy suggestions, though I like some historicals, too. Thanks for any help!

The Kushiel's Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey are awe inspiring. It has everything! War, sex, intrigue, adventure... Tho most importantly their is a strong female lead and the writing couldn't have been better. These have been in my top 5 book since I read them in high school. If you are looking for Euro based novels they fall into that category as well. Try Kushiel's Dart (the first of the bunch) to start out with, you won't be disappointed.
I also love The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge, more courageous women, yay!

Try the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Begins with 'Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment.' It embraces both elements of sci-fi and fantasy. Enjoyable reads.

i think you would like the uglies, pretties, specials, & extra books by scott westerfeld. it is set in a futuristic society which the first 3 are white characters but the 4th book is japanese characters. it combines great new technology, some teenage romance, some action. its amazing
& i bet someone has told you about the twilight series
they were amazing but if you like sci fi you should def go for the uglies series
good luck in finding a new good series

As a teen and young adult, I read Piers Anthony, specifically his Xanth series. There are over 30 books, that are more fantasy than sci-fi, but they're FUNNY!!! Now that I'm not young anymore, I still read them.

If you like alternate history or would like to try it,
Harry Turtledove, excellent for alternate history.
Worldwar series is probably the best to start with
