My dog needs a playmate!?
I live in a small townhome community that I know has plenty of dogs my dogs size. I know my dog needs a playmate as she is alone in the houe all day and we only get to spend a few hours with her in the evenings (she's NOT crated though). Is this something that I can just post a sign for? If so, do you think people would respond? I've never seen a sign like this so I'm curious as to what other dog owner think they might do. Sign would probably say something like "50lb boxer/greyhound mix looking for well natured playmate. Our dog plays well with others but toys are best left at home. Would like to play 2-3 times/week for 45-60 minutes."
I know about daycare and she does about one saturday a month. However, I really wanted something close by that she could do for an hour or so in the evenings and that wouldn't cost extra money. Daycare is hard because I live out in the middle of no where and they are all very far from my house, making it inconvenient to coordinate with my work hours.

I know you mean well and want what's best for your pet, but the best playmate that a dog could ever have it you! Is there anyone who could come in during the day and walk her while you're at work? Sadly, I don't think a couple of hours every evening is enough. If that's all you can offer her, make half of it a walk and the other half a good workout of frisbee or ball or just plain wrestling. Had a boxer in the past and he loved to play wrestle!
First answer was great! I didn't think of doggy day care!

I would not recomend this, you do not know what illnesses or things other dogs could pass on to yours.
Fleas, ticks, kennel cough, mites, and more
Think about going to a dog park in your spare time, (although you still take risks)
Better yet, why not get another pet, a companion for your dog who you can be sure of is up to date on vaccines and all the necessary treatments.
Just my opinion

some data is lacking which includes, what breed are we conversing approximately? How old? i think of if your canine is on my own for the duration of the day it might relish some company via fact it extremely is a %. animal. i think of it extremely is staggering you recognize she likes older men. If the canine tears the residing house aside once you're long previous, it is bored or lonely. Or chews it is toys into shreds. it is pissed off. Ask acquaintances to deliver their canine over for visits (beware for marking territory) to be sure how your canine reacts. if your canine desires to play or considers it, it extremely is a sturdy sign it might like company of a nicely behaved gentleman :)

Why not simply sign him up for your local dog daycare. There are plenty of playmates there.
