Speaking to our enemies....naive?
regarding Barack Obama's stance on speaking to our enemies (Cuba, Iran, North Korea) alot of his critics say this is a sign of his inexperience in foreign relations. They say its naive.
Am I missing something?

I think that it shows balls and a strong desire for peace. Instead of interacting through bombs and scare tactics, he wants to actually speak to our "enemies" directly.
Even if the results aren't quite what he wants, he is still planning on making a strong positive effort.

An enemy is an enemy. Especially when it comes to foreign relations. When a country is passionate about destroying us, or their hate has been evident in history, shaking hands will not change anything. It will be a waste of time and yes i believe it is naive. Because sooner or later that same country we spoke to will turn against us. 9-11 is a great example!
