Mommas! What is your families favorite dinner that you make and why??
Who do you cook for?? Husband/Boyfriend? Children/How old?
Why do you LOVE this dish??
I can tell you that my family loves Lasagna!! I cook for my hubby and two boys ages 3 and 6. They love it because it is hardy, filling, cheesy, and just down right good! I love it because it is simple and pretty quick, I can cram as many veggies as I want into it without my kids complaining, and I can make a double batch and freeze it for another night when momma just wants to kick her feet up! Feel free to email me for the recipe, and do not forget to add your recipe if it is a great one. I am sure many mommas would like to hear new ideas for din!
Oh, you are all bringing a huge smile to my face. Keep up the good work girls!!!
AND SWEET GIRL! Hang in there momma, I was a single momma for a while as I was divorced and my kids are from the previous marriage. Keep it up hun and keep filling those precious tummies with a nice dinner!
In Love...
that is another of my favs from my momma also and I make it for my family except I add a couple cans of cheddar soup with it. Good one!
O'h girls, don't worry about the people that give you a thumbs down... they are just being snotty. I love to hear that people are using turkey to substitue beef! I do it almost all the time!
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef (90/10) or ground Turkey
1 medium Roma tomato
½ yellow onion
1 medium bell pepper
1 medium zucchini
½ medium eggplant
1 package Barilla lasagna noodles
1 LARGE jar of Prego (or substitute your favorite sauce)
1 tbsp.. Olive oil or vegetable oil
1 large container ricotta cheese
1 16 oz package of mozzarella cheese
2 eggs
First I fill a large pot with water and add olive oil and salt to taste for boiling noodles....
While waiting for water to boil,
I chop all veggies into small pieces and set aside in bowl.
I brown the meet until almost done and then add all veggies.
Drain meat and veggies and then add the entire jar of desired sauce.
Preheat oven to 350
Set meat sauce on low while adding entire package of Barilla (or desired brand) of lasagna pasta. (Salt pasta to taste as desired) Boil pasta for approx. 10 minutes
While pasta is boiling, mix ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 2 eggs until well blended.
When pasta is cooked (Don’t overcook it girls!!) Drain and place back into pan....
Then, take a 9X13 glass pan (Or whatever you may have....metal pan will be fine also) and simply layer all 3 ingredients. Pasta, Ricotta, Sauce... I also add a little sprinkle of Mozzarella cheese after sauce but this is optional!!
Just continue to layer until pan is full, then add tin foil to top and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, then remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes.
I have found that letting the lasagna sit for about 10 minutes after baking makes it easier to serve.
I also add different dry spices... including basil and a tad of rosemary. This is all about preference which is why I didn’t add it to the recipe. I also always add garlic salt and a bit of freshly ground pepper to my meat while it is browning.
I know I am not the best with writing recipes as I do it all from my mind. I hope this gives a little direction to my families perfect lasagna!! Cook with your heart and try different things. Just remember that when using dried spices, it often takes less than using fresh products. Good luck girlies!

I cook for my hubby and 7 year old and they just about like everything I cook..I'd say lasagna is at the top of the list. they also love my Pork chops, and my chicken tenders. and my pork roast bbq.
for the pork chops...I place a bit of butter in a pan, sprinkle them with seasonal salt and cook them over low heat till they are done. I usually serve them with homemade mashed potatoes and peas.
for the chicken tenders..they are super simple. I make an egg and milk wash, and then I use progresso Italian breadcrumbs. I dip them twice and fry them. I serve those with stuffing and corn.
for the pork roast, I carmelize it first in a pan on each side. then I place it in the slow cooker to cook all day. at the very end..about the last 30 minutes before we eat I pour Barbeque sauce over the top of it. YUM!

My husband and son both are a huge fan of turkey meatballs, homemade spaghetti sauce and noodles and my homemade garlic bread. It's the house hold favorite! It is different each time for the meat balls and sauce because I don't keep a written recipe, but it always has turned out well.
*again how in the world do you give a thumbs down for this? oh well. some people sometimes..
*I'm a bit more sensitive while I'm pregnant, lol. Sometimes I can take things a little too personally.
*BoSox27: Thanks. Like I said before, pregnancy can make me a little overly sensitive at times. =) I like your recipe by the way.

I don't think it could be narrowed down to just one dish in our house lol! It depends on who is doing the cooking on any given night as my hubby and I trade off to relieve the task of falling on one person all the time.
When my husband cooks I absolutely LOVE his ribs that he won an award for. He also does a fabulous rotisserie chicken and even better dry aged steak on occassion. His pork shoulder is unbelieveable for pulled pig. I'm getting hungry! LOL!
When I do the cooking the favorite dishes are slow cooker chicken spaghetti with lowfat fresh mozzerella. I also do a mexican lasagna with flour tortillas in place of the noodles that is super easy for crazy nights. Literally 30 minutes start to finish. My hubby also likes like Hungarian stuffed peppers, Jerusalem chicken (or hen) with artichoke and potato mash, BBQ pork chops or chicken, spaghetti and meatballs. His favorite of all though is my potroast with cornbread.
We both enjoy our gourmet type cooking but in all honesty on any given night dinner can be on the table in an hour or less. I found a great short cut is to buy ground turkey or lean beef and precook things like spaghetti sauces, chili, fillings for things and freeze it. It works quicker that way. I've even done Taco fillings that way too. For meatloaf, meatballs and BBQ meats I pre mix them and vac seal them raw so I only have to thaw it out the night before and it's ready to go by dinner time the next day.

I am a mom of 3 girls (age 8 months) and 3 boys (4 years). Honestly, my kids love the quickest and easiest recipe under the sun, spaghetti and meatballs. I get as much veggies as I can and cramp them into the sauce. My kids never even notice! I would love to see the recipe you have, I will be e-mailing about it! I actually was looking for a lasagna recipe.

This family favorite goes back to my great grandma......believe it or not, all 3 of my kids remember her cooking it for Sunday dinner (now we'd call it lunch). Sometimes there were thirty or more cousins all gathered. Fried chicken, biscuits, gravy, fresh peas or green beans, sliced tomatoes, mashed potatoes (but she used a ricer) and coconut cream pie for dessert. I can't remember once that she made a salad....unless you count macaroni! 5 generations of artery clogged happiness around the table!

antipasto salad, believe it or not. i put out a ton of different cut up veggies (usually raw), cheeses, some ham, salami, and pepperoni, and some croutons . i make knorr leek soup and blueberry muffins (from a mix -- yes, i'm a cooking wimp) to go with it. everybody gets to build their own plate out of all the options. it's everybody's favorite meal and it doesn't really involve cooking, just cutting. it's amazing how many veggies they'll eat when i make it!
Source(s): i cook for at least six every night (me, my husband, 4 kids), and on weekends we often have 8-10. simplicity is important to me! - SoBoxLv 71 decade ago
My guys (husband and son) LOVE my shepherd's pie. They love it because, as they say, it's "man food" - meat, potatoes, and cheese. What they don't realize is that I make it with lean turkey, the mashed potatoes are made with soy milk, it's full of healthy vegetables, it's low - sodium, and all of the ingredients are organic. But as my husband says, it doesn't taste healthy. =)
*EDIT*
I forgot to add that my husband makes jalapeno feta turkey burgers that are enough to make me want to marry him all over again - mmmm!

Ukrainian food - perogies, cabbage rolls, borscht
Homemade chicken noodle soup
Crispy chicken pieces and potato wedges (homemade, in the oven, you'd never know they're not fried)
But MY favorite meal is when my husband makes us schnitzel!!! Ah, yummers!
