Will Armageddon be a catastrophic end or a new beginning?
Since the Bible links Armageddon with “the end of the world,” is'nt having a clear understanding of it important? (Matthew 24:3, King James Version) And would it not be reasonable to turn to the ultimate source of truth, God’s Word, to find answers about the nature of Armageddon and what it will mean for you and your family?

For me (hopefully) it will be the beginning of all things new. I will not be like "Lots Wife" looking back when we're being led into the new system.
I gotta be there, I've invisioned it, I've dreamt of it:):)
Now I've gotta work at it!

I believe this is the most recent change to their understanding about the meaning of Jesus' words regarding "the generation" that would not pass away till all the signs of the end of the age had been fulfilled: The Watchtower, April 15, 2010 Holy Spirit’s Role in the Outworking of Jehovah’s Purpose (pages 7 – 11) Paragraph 14: “How, then, area we to understand Jesus’ words about ‘this generation’? He evidently meant that the lives of the anointed who were on hand when the sign began to become evident in 1914 would overlap with the lives of other anointed ones who would see the start of the great tribulation. That generation had a beginning, and it surely will have an end. The fulfilment of the various features of the sign clearly indicate that the tribulation must be near. By maintaining your sense of urgency and keeping on the watch, you show that you are keeping up with advancing light and following the leadings of holy spirit (Mark 13:37).” The reason for the "new light" is because it's almost 100 years since Jesus was supposed to have begun reigning, invisibly from heaven, in 1914. The original teaching was that the Rapture and Armageddon were going to be over before the end of 1914. Then October 1975 was given as the date to mark 6,000 years since Adam and Eve were created, and since Jehovah's Witnesses believe the millennial reign of Christ Jesus (from heaven) will take place during during the final thousand years of Jehovah's seventh day of rest, then Armageddon would have to happen first. And here we are, 35 years on, and still no sign of Armageddon. My parents became Jehovah's Witnesses in the 1930's and they were told they were the generation who would still be alive to see Armageddon and the ushering in of a new system of things. They died disappointed. Check out the link below to trace all the changes made to "the generation" teaching. For what it's worth, the Bible tells us that no man knows the day or the hour when Christ will return, with all the angels, in power and glory, to judge the earth. Rather than waste time speculating about chronology, we would each and every one of us be better advised to live our lives as if Christ was going to return tonight.

At Armageddon the lawless people and the apostates and those in false religion and the military and anyone who has rejected Jehovah will be destroyed.
Satan and his demons will be locked up in an abyss for 1000 years.
During the Thousand years without Satan's influence all those on earth will be happy . There will be an earthly cleanup, a Resurrection and a teaching program to bring all persons into harmony with Jehovah's righteous standards.
Instead of sweating whether you will survive or not...now is the time to bring your life into that harmony with Jehovah's standards. And you too can walk through into God's promised paradise, a promised land, for all time.

It will be Both an end and a New Beginning. An end to all wickedness chief of which is Religious Harlotry. The new beginning will be one of a New day of worshipping the One and Only True God. With Satan & his Demons out of commision for 1,000 years those who survive the coming of that Great day and Many others who will be resurrected from the grave will have an opportunity to be taught about Jehovah without having to worry about Religious leaders trying to sway their minds with teachings of the Trinity and the like.
It will not be late.

The *end* of Armageddon will be the start of a New World and New Heavens. Only the ones that Jesus chooses to be there will be there. No human on earth knows who Jesus will choose. Jesus reads the heart of anyone. Jesus knows how to separate the sheep from the goats because it is written on their foreheads. (What is in your heart, is in your mind, and so it is written on your forehead)

I totally agree with both of my brothers. Jehovah knows who his sheep are and they will all be gathered at Armageddon and ushered into Paradise. Unfortunately, those who still cannot see the light when Jehovah makes all known to them will still blaspheme and deny him. How wicked this world is and how blind Satan has made those teaching the masses and those of the masses that refuse to listen or see.

I'm looking forward to the new beginning!
Jehovah has said we will stand still and see His day, and His deliverance of His people.
I wonder if the end will be a bit of a blur, seeing as how it could be quite dramatic, and He is going to shelter us from trauma...
... just thinking out loud! :)
It will be nice to not see horrible things being done every day; it will be nice for there to be no reports of wars, or children dying, or famine, or toxic waste. Or lots of junk!!! :)

Funny, my 1st thought was simply...both.
Then I read the 1st 2 answers...I'm laffing...they both said both.
Yes, it is important, it means your survival.
Again, yes, it is reasonable;
since Jehovah God
is the one telling the beginning and end of all things.

I am happy to know it comes soon .... It is often hard not to imagine that day and what it will be like .... I try to imagine the good things to come like giving my grandparents hugs again and many others that i have lost in death....
