best laptop?

I was planning on investing in a laptop computer. I'm considering a Sony VAIO but I was curious to know from those who have laptops which would be the best laptop to get. I'm not techno sauvy so I don't know what to look for.

While you might get a dozen or more personal opinions here, I suggest going to the library and checking out Consumer Reports. They regularly review personal computers. So does PCWorld and several other national computer mags. These reviews are based on tens of thousands of consumer surveys--not just one person's positive or negative experiences. While one person might really hate a system, it might be due to the fact that he's a noob and bought the wrong system for his/her requirements. Only you know what you'll need from a system. I think that support is an important service others don't.

first depends on what you want. for gaming or not. if not then macs i hear are good for that. if so then dont get a mac. check out ibuypower.com. you can choose amd or intel. and can choose what specs you want. and good prices too. also free shipping. it is for gaming laptops so they make them to play games. also though dont waist money on overnight shipping. shipping is fast still without and free. also overnight shiping does not mean you get it overnight. it means you get it overnight when they build your laptop. and they can take up to a week. last time i ordered it took a week to get my laptop without paying anything extra for it.

i am not here to tell you what is good and what not to get. a lot has to do with what you want to do. also if you plan on upgrading in the future. if all you want is internet, and to use for school to type with and maybe songs. macs might not be that bad. however if you want more like gaming and all. check out the site i gave you and check out your options. same with if you want to upgrade and have work done. check with local computer shops and see what they can and cant work on. i know my area it is hard to find people to work on macs. and more expencive. anyways good luck

Source(s): i heard macs arent as nice for gaming. some games you cant even play on. and i heard harder to maintain. again what you want though.

Don't go with a Vaio. Way too overpriced for what you get. The Dell XPS series is pretty good.

    Sony Vaio

(Macs are rubbish - and expensive to maintain/upgrade)

macs are amazing computers. they are more powerful than PCs and are not as prone to viruses. The graphics are great and the programs that come with the computer are really cool. Maybe you are more of a PC person, but if you are open to a Mac, I would really recommend it. Really.
