Why would God give us illnesses/diseases *and* the cures for them?

Isn't that a little silly?

Maybe the diseases are tests. Even though God apparently does not test us, according to the Bible. Except for when he does.

What cure? Many have died from cancer regardless of chemotherapy. And Satan can do no more than God allows him to. All is of God. Answers will come to us when we are in full knowledge of God. This life is a learning experience that will culminate into knowing God fully. But only in the next life.

If God exists then God gives us a certain element of self determination. By that I mean we have to take responsability for our own actions - as human beings. Therefore when an illness comes about and cause alot of pain, suffering and death it is all to easy to blame God and say why has he done this to us. The reality is we have done this to ourselves. Now don't think I am saying that there is no sympathy for people with illnesses, that is not my intention at all. However there comes a point in our lives where we have to stop blaming rxternal sources and look to ourselves and even our own personal God for the solutions. This is not to degrade or usurp God as omnipotent (if that is your belief) but it is to understand that we have a certain element of self determination!

Awwhh, Free will of course. See, we can use our free will to sit around and die of whooping cough for example.. or we can use our free will to try to stop it. Either way, God is indifferent. That's why we were given a free will. So we could choose for ourselves because no way in hell is god going to interfere.

If you take that logic and extend it, you see that god gave us the diseases and the free will to find our own cure. That's just a cruel indifference to the consequences, I think.

Probably for the exact same reason people who don't know God and don't believe in God keep explaining the character and nature of God to those of us who do.

He didn't. He gave us the diseases, the cures were from human endeavour. What a git God is.

God, silly? Why that's just...just...absolutely right. Why limit it to diseases/cures and just say that god is silly in general. That's far more accurate.

Apparently us humans created the disease by shagging anything that moves, and 'GOD' gave us the intelligence to make cures.

    Right.
