Filthy carpet?

You might want to consider having the carpets professionally cleaned this one time and then you can use your bissell to touch up. You could clean the carpet yourself once a month with no damage to the carpet. Vinegar will not harm a carpet. Think about having it cleaned by a carpet cleaner and then you can maintain it. Household cleaning machines can cause faster staining since they leave the carpet too wet for too long

vinegar is my number one tip and I cant see how it will damage your cleaner as you do have to put the vinegar in water just as you would a carper cleaner soap. Vinegar is a food and most of us consume vinegar. Actually if there is too much soap in your carpet the vinegar will work against the soap and gradually the dirty soap will leave your carpet. All you need is vinegar and warm water.

I put vinegar in my automatic washing machine for the final rinse it does the job of the more expensive fabric conditioners even the whites and I never wash my black and denim and very dark colours in soap as eventually it leaves little white spots of soap on the clothes. I wash my dark clothes and denim in vinegar and for the rest I put it in the final rinse.

Vinegar is also the best thing to clean your microwave. Just put a dollop of vinegar in a microwaveable bowl of water and turn on the microwave for 5 minutes. Then remove the bowl from your microwave as the vinegar in the steam will of loosened all dirt in your microwave then squeeze out your dish cloth and wipe the inside of the microwave and the dirt just disappears onto your cloth. 2 seconds and my microwave is clean and dont discard the vinegar water untill after you have finished cooking as it will absorb all the cooking smells from your kitchen..

Vinegar is also good for sunburn even on children.

I bought a book called the vinegar book and their are 1000s of things you can use vinegar for including a gargle for sore throats provided it is diluted with water of course so I would advise anyone to buy themselves a copy of the vinegar book

Vinegar is a disinfectant and I only buy the cheapest bottle I can see on the supermarket shelf and it works the same as the dear stuff. One last important thing although I put vinegar in my bath water in hospital after an operation please keep it away from the eyes.

And one last thing vinegar is a disinfectant But it must be kept away from the eyes.

i would try using 1/2 cap tide laundry soap in your cleaner. i have white carpet and live on a red clay dirt road since i have switched to tide instead of the carpet cleaner solution i have whiter brighter carpet with no stains. works very well. in regards to shampooing too much as long as its good and dry in between cleanings you should be ok. i clean mine about 3 times per month.

I shampoo my carpet a couple times a month. I have 3 dogs and kids. I like to keep it clean.

You should talk to the landlord to see what they can do for you. I think they should have had new carpet put in or this carpet cleaned before you moved in.....someone else's dirty carpet is very disgusting!!!

Too much soap in a carpet will actually attract dirt. I would do what the other person said and use vinegar.

yes and instead of using your carpet shampoo use vinegar instead you will see your carpet cleaner than ever.add the vinegar instaed of your shampoo trust me it works and it will get out any odors you might have in the carpet also.
