Water, when left to itself, doesn't always sink to lower depths, only if it is left to itself on an unstable surface. Water bends and flows down whatever path is carved for it or that it carves for itself. I like to think that human nature is the same way: left to ourselves, it is ourselves that decides whether we sink or rise.

I don't think it is completely right, because right now us humans are kind of on our own, and there are some of us that seek lower depths but others that look for the sky.

I like it, but I really don't know how true it is? Because humans aren't naturally negative self-pittying people. So it's not Human nature! Maybe if it was replace with something like...a broken or hurt person...or a saddened mind..I don't know...something along those lines. I just don't believe humans are meant to be as negative as we've become! But I love the thought of this quote!

Neither water nor human nature "seek" lower depths. They just flow there.

Compare like with like. Water is not human even tho humans are 75% composed of it.

'course, when there's no one to guide him, he's left wandering on his own. as somebody earlier said, "even human nature is susceptible to gravity" or something like that, what else is the human being supposed to do?
