Is aboveground one word or two?
Is it aboveground or above ground? I have to write in a paper that I have an aboveground (or an above ground) pool and I don't know which to use.

Two following a verb, as an adjective, you can hyphenate it. The pool is above ground (preposition followed by a noun), or it is an above-ground pool (adjectival).

ONE word.....!
the geeks in `computer world` have success-fully removed the "hyphen" from nearly all English (grammatically correct) Language , as it assists the Key-board Operator during the course of their work-day. (convenience factor)
if you want to describe a swimming pool that is placed on or higher than the ground in your yard , the correct way of `writing` this is: above-ground pool.
the reverse description would be: in-ground pool.
the same applies to: cooperating......!
have you ever heard of two people "cooperating" on a project...???
not me , but i have heard of two people "Co-operating".
have fun with your research and please refer to the first
para-graph (now commonly written as paragraph) to spot the hyphenated words included there-in. those words are typed in the correct manner..grammatically..though the hyphen are missing in every-day communications/letter writing/e-mail.

Spell check has two solutions: 1) above ground and 2) above-ground.
Use spell check; it's there for a reason.
