Why is it that blacks get so upset with the "N" word but call the females bitches and hoes? Sexism is bad also

Update:

RAP music .............brought to light using such awful terms in descibing women not society in general...........

Update 2:

I tried to type in "the N word" this program wouldn't let me, but it did let me type in the nasty names used on women. Women are degraded every day in this world, murdered, raped, kidnapped, tortured but this program wouldn't let me type "the N word" ....SEXISM needs to STOP

Update 3:

SCcooter......... is it a womans fault that men abuse them in every way imaginable not just NAME CALLING

For the same reason Jesse and Al still have a job.... (and a well paying one at that)....

Blacks PRETEND to be upset at the N word, because it is their leverage to get more "special treatment" from "whitey".... who they think is some secret society out to oppress them.

They call themselves that word all day long.... but some how it's only offensive if a white person says it.

Basically.... their FAKE offense to that word (while accepting it in music, movies, and everyday talk).... is all the proof you need to show that blacks do NOT want a society of "equality". THEY WANT special treatment.

It is interesting that the 'N' word to which you refer has only become pejorative in the 19th century and beyond. Its early use was not considered offensive by either users of the word or those thus described. Its origin is probably from the Latin for the word for black: niger. The spanish for black is ***** [Edit - haha Yahoo starred the word I put in here - wow! It was clearly starting with an 'n' ending with an 'o' a 'g' in the middle plus an 'e' & an 'r'!]. I guess that if it is used nowadays, because it went out of fashion as a normal term so long ago, it can only have an offensive or ridiculing intent, so it is hardly unexpected that those of black African descent would take offense. However within their own society, particualrly street and rap society, it is bound to be acceptable under friendly conditions, but it can still be used offensively between one and another if they so choose- it is the intonation and intent that comes across. Again, the use of the terms bitches and hoes would never be heard in polite black African company. It is street and rap talk, and is used for a specific effect. If you hear a non-black describing their female partner as a ***** [darn it you know what I mean] or a hoe, it is much more shocking because it is simply not part of our general vocabulary, and it is the youth culture that roams the streets in hoods for instance (all races) that have picked up on the rap culture and in looking for a rebellious, non-affiliated, non-traditional, unique and immediate way of expressing themselves have allied themselves to what is often seen as a less than acceptable style and vocabulary in order to make their mark so to speak.

Because this generation of America is stupid. There is a new generation of people being born now who hardly have any concept of race at all.

In defense of blacks, the N word is a terrible thing to say. It literally means that you wish a black person would return to being a slave. It strips the person totally of respect and dignity and leaves them to defend themselves with whatever they have left.

Bitches and hos has really turned into a comical expression nowadays anyway, not that I'm watering it down, just that depending on the situation, it seems okay to call someone a ho. Alternatively, there is usually no socially acceptable situation to call someone the N word.

Murders and rape crimes do happen everyday but should Yahoo say, "Well since all that stuff is happening, we should let you type the "N" word because of all the other negative crap in society."? NO! Two wrongs dont make a right.

Another person blaming Hip Hop. Since when did music overpower one's teachings from a parent?

I have never shot a gun, smoked weed, sold drugs, told a girl she was a b*tch or a ho.

You should check my music collection.

If anything, its one's enviroment. If you grow up seeing that kind of stuff (not on music videos but you know, like outside your doorstep), you are more inclined to do it because that surrounds you. That is only for those that do not have the guidance to think rationally and make better decisions. For the rest of us, we listen to the music. You heard that, "listen".

But blame Hip Hop if you wanna lol.

Judging others based on one word said by a member of a culture is silly. Furthermore, to think that "all" people of one culture behaves the exact way or uses the same wordings is ignorant.

i don't know why we get so uptight about words. The "N word" (it's so silly we have to refer to it that way) comes from the spanish word for black. The spanish are the ones that brought them over here origionally, and called them "negras" which simply meant "blacks," which is what we call them today. When english speaking people came around a few years later "negras" morphed into the word we all hate today. It simply means black. It's just a word. I have no idea how we gave it so much power. It's silly when you think about it.

Nice sentiment and yes sexism is bad as well. But it's not just blacks that call women bitches and hos. The problem is not with blacks, the problem is with society in general.

White people rap....Hispanic people rap...and just as many people that aren't black listen to it...so you tell me how that isn't society in general? Not to mention how many white men I have heard describe women in those exact same terms!!!! I am not saying that anyone should say them, but I think it's stupid to blame it all on black people. And no, I am not black....so you can get that out of your head. Society is to blame, not blacks!

    EDIT: For definitions

N word: Deragatory term used to put down a particular race, specifically blacks in general.

BITCHES: Female dog AS well as deragartory term for women.

    HOES: Garden tool....

Now do you see why those two words were allowed and not the n word?

Yes, sexism does need to stop, but so does racism. And I am sorry but encouraging racism to stop sexism just is not the answer. You being racist is just as bad and only makes the female sex look worse. I AM a woman, so I do know what it is like, but I can tell you now that it is not a black person's fault that we are discriminated against. It's society as a whole.

    EDIT:::

IT IS NOT A WOMAN'S FAULT EITHER! i AM JUST TRYING TO GET YOU TO SEE THAT THAT SEXISM ISN'T A RACIAL ISSUE....THEREFORE BLACKS SHOULD NOT BE BLAMED FOR THE WAY WOMEN ARE TREATED

Not all blacks call females those names and the ones that do like Rappers don't really have a problem with the N word either. They use it for friends, foes and themselves alike

It's awful for you to generalize people who you don't even know personally based on music. Media should not be your source of education, becoming cultured will help a bit.

Blacks also get upset over the B's and H's names

You just here a small segment of the entertainment field calling women that and you think we as blacks think it's great.

    Whites buy those Cd's too

so your saying that whites are sexist too

Don't put everyone in a box because you have to add yourself in one!
