How many Christians feel this way?

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ

that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean

livin''

I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with

pride.

I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.

I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry

on When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.

I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be

perfect,

My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of

pain..

I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,

I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace,

somehow!

I'm nervous and uneasy around them, usually. The ''born-agains'' have a way of making me feel very uncomfortable. There are many in these groups who have a very elitist way of thinking (''no true Christian would ever do this or believe that, or make a mistake''), and that's probably what does it for me. Mulereiner and Crusader provide perfect examples of this with their answers. I'll bet $50 they don't believe that the Eucharist is the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ, yet that's exactly what the Bible says. Still, I'm not a ''true Christian'' to them because this is what I believe. I don't like the way so many fundamentalist groups are so wrapped up in politics, nor am I a Zionist who wants to ''hurry God up'' when it comes to Biblical prophecy. This kind of outlook makes me nervous for the future of the entire globe. But to be fair, the leaders of fundamentalist groups are doing a lot to help people lead better lives. They help their congregants with addiction, moneyhandling problems, and all manner of other ''living problems'' more than a lot of other groups I've noticed. This is where we moderate types could probably stand to take notes. I feel that anyone who considers himself to be better than another for the simple fact that he is Christian hurts Christianity. I also feel that ''hellfire and brimstone'' preaching does the same, but these messages and attitudes could come from any member of any Christian denomination. Peace, Drew
