The so-called "war on terror" is a term coined by George W. Bush. It's his simplistic way of trying to explain the loss of more than 4,000 lives and billions upon billions of dollars for nothing other than earning the ire of many.

The war on terror as the US President coined the phrase started after the World Trade Centre attacks.
