Random hive-like things on my arms?

Hives can come in any shape anywhere on the body. Large patches or random spots over the body. My daughter gets them as a reaction to our carpet, sinus infections, certain foods, perfumes, etc. Some are actual allergies and some are just irritants or a sensitivity to a substance. I will attach a few pics of one of her outbreaks. This batch of pics were from a sinus infection. She has to take an oral steroid to get rid of the hives when they are like these in the pics. When they aren't as bad we use a prescription antihistamine with a steroid ointment and the hives go down in about 3-4 days. After about 1 week they are completely gone.

That sounds like the exact same kind of hives my daughter had. She got hers from eating cashews. They didn't look like normal hive patches, and they would just pop up all over her body and then disappear again. Sometimes they'd be on her legs, sometimes on her arms, etc. They would pop up more frequently and cover more of her body when she was stressed or crying really hard. It only lasted for a few days, and we traced it back to cashews - so she has a food allergy. We've never given her anymore and it's never happened again.

It sounds like you probably are allergic to your cat if that's the first time you've noticed them. Otherwise - did you change your laundry detergent at about that time, or maybe a new type of air freshener, body soap, perfume, etc? It also might be a food allergy - is there something you started eating that was different at about the same time? If it's "no" to all those questions, it's probably your cat. If you really love your cat, get on something like Zyrtec or Claritin and it should solve the problem. :) Hope that helps.

First off, go to a doctor. No one can give you the answer to this question like a qualified physician.

However, I personally think that the hives are from stress or a food allergy. Generally, if you are allergic to a pet, you sneeze, etc. This would be something happening internally...like stress or food.

Go to the doctor. The doctor will be able to give you a much better answer than anyone here, since we can't actually see what's going on.

i think it might be eczema but you should go to a dermatologists and ask about it.
