What do we call encircled letters?

you know like encircled C for copyright, T for trademark.. is there a word for those letters? please?

other than "symbol" please

    I guess the shorthand would be symbols of registration:

    © - copyright has been registered

    ® - registered trademark (and patent?)

    ™ - registered trademark
