How to fix a burst water pipe?
I live in a little (12' by 70') old mobile home. This past winter the water line to my outside faucet froze and sprang a leak (all my other pipes are pvc and wrapped in heat tape). I was wondering if electrical tape and duct tape would be a decent temporary fix? I want to try that stuff on tv that changes color but don't know where to get it. I do have extra pvc from replacing my water main last summer (the copper pipe was so full of holes it let more water out than in). So it will get fixed just not right now.
So anyway will the tape work? Of course after I use the hose the water line will get shut off. I just need to re-seed my lawn and then water it. So it will only be used every other day or so.
Thank-you for any help.

A temporary fix is a rubber patch over the leak then use an stainless steel hose clamp to cover the patch. If the leak is a little more you might need 2 clamps.

I think you should go ahead and repair it with pvc. PVC is cheap and easy to work with. Likely cheaper than "Mighty Putty" or whatever and will last a long time. Isn't it better to just do it right the first time?
