It's buffering. Just keep it paused until it loads all the way. Then play and enjoy.

It is due to your connection. The cable can't get enough data down the line as it needs, It pauses your video and downloads a predetermined block of data and then your video will start playing again untill it reaches the end or untill it gets to where the video has got up to downloading and then it will pause and try again.
This can be down to servers but with a company like Google (these own YouTube) this normally isn't a problem. I would check to see if there is a problem with your connection or phone your internet provider to see if they have a proble if this persists. You may want to look into getting faster broadband as streaming video is not advisable on 4mb /sec or lower

Just hit pause for a moment and let the clip load. Once the load-line gets ahead of the clip-cursor a 1/2" or so, you should be able to hit play and watch the rest of the clip---depending on your download speed, of course. People on dial up, best thing is once it starts, pause it, go do something for a few minutes and then come back when it's fully loaded.

This type of situation often occurs whenever YouTube HQ
shuts down most of their system for stupid things such as:
constantly changing their "Inbox" display back-and-forth;
removing their very own blogs only to put them back again;
or "upgrading" their look (usually resulting in a downgrade).
It's never a good idea to experiment with things you may not
know about, such as "uninstalling/reinstalling flash player",
"disabling/enabling java scripts", "changing firewall settings",
"removing antivirus programs", toying with your registry or
installing different browsers -- because they won't help you.
Your computer/YouTube was working fine before, right?
The first and best option should always be to try and work
with what you already have -- rather than disabling, erasing
separating, uninstalling, altering, downloading, installing or
changing things (which may make things worse for you).
Your type of problem often corrects itself within a few hours.
But if it doesn't, then it could be a situation with your "cache".
(That's why your channel page may sometimes look normal,
but not a regular video page.)
Whenever YouTube seems stuck or displays things weird,
I always empty my cache of all "temporary internet files",
"cookies" and "history". Things are usually okay afterwards.
If you're not quite sure how to do this, or if you want several
other tips to help make YouTube run faster (without having
to change anything), then please contact me; I will lead you
through the whole process in plain English and very easy
and understandable "baby steps".

It's a slow download. The pause is when the video has caught up to the point of downloading. If you want to watch without pauses, then let the whole video download before viewing.

Probably the speed of your broadband not being fast enough to view them in real time. I find if I pause them for a few seconds at the begining then they load up in pause mode and don't stop when you play them.

It pauses because Youtube is loading the video. You can tell when it it fully loaded by looking at the bar at the bottom. You will notice that it pauses when it has reached the end of the loaded part, shown in pink/red. When the grey bar is fully pink/red, then the video is fully loaded. Hope this helps.

When you watch a video the red thing that movie where it has all the play and stuff that called the buffering. You need to wait until it buffers to watch the Video. You can watch it while the buffering is half way thru, but i prefere to wait until it's done

Two possibilities.
1) Your bandwidth has dropped, so the buffering takes longer.
2) Your available RAM is low and the system goes to the page file for more memory.
reset your modem (unplug, then replug)
reset your router (same thing)
clean up your computer (ccleaner.com has a good tool)
shut off your startup items (msconfig)
turn off your instant messengers and other internet applications...

you probably need to let it buffer leave the video paused for a sec. Press ctrl alt del click on performance see what is using the most memory. Maybe you are downloading something that can slow down your computer or maybe you have itunes or windows media player on that uses lots of memory. If the problem persists then you need to upgrade your come try upgrading your ram or cpu
