    1. Yes, writing is an art. But it is also a craft that is learned and honed.

    2. Yes, writing is easy. Anyone can write. But writing WELL is very difficult, and requires a great deal of practice.

    3. Yes, the knack for writing well is a gift. But even people who don't begin with any special talent can learn to write well. All that's required is a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

I would say so. The best definition I've come across is that art is something that's not practical (like an umbrella or a ladle), but something with emotion imbued in it whose effect lasts for quite awhile. Creative writing is definitely an art in this right, and objective writing, if there's enough personality, can be considered art. Really, there's two types of art. There's the one I mentioned above, and then there's the art that's synonymous with "craft". Hence, the art of thermodynamics, the art of cooking, the art of philosophy, etc.

    It's definitely an art.

Depends on what you're writing. For example, if you're gifted at making up stories, writing is easy, but if you have to deliver a 20-page essay on the habits of the angel fish, it's hard.

I think it's both, some people are born with the gift for writing, but others can work hard and develop it.

Writing is an art, because like art it's a way of expressing yourself.

It depends what I'm writing. If I have an idea, then it's really easy and the words just flow and come out, but when I'm not in a creative mood then it gets difficult.

Anyone can write. It just depends how much they actually want to write and how willing they are.

Yes, I think writing is an art: writing is painting pictures with words.

Writing is easy, but writing something that people like is really difficult.

Anyone can write, you see. Writing is expressing one's thoughts and exercising the imagination. But as I mentioned above, it is a lot more difficult to give a clear, interesting image of what you're trying to say through just words.

yes writing is an art, is it easy, yes if you have a natural talent which is a gift, but like all the arts drawing, painting etc you can develop skills, try a writers school, or similar

Of course writing is an art. And of course it is easy and anyone can write. But writing something that matters to anyone else gets a little difficult. And writing something that people want to read, well, that is really hard. Unless you wanna write about what did Paris Hilton last night (but of course, that would get you just THAT kind of readers).

i do think writting is an art. its a way of expressing yourself, in a more descriptive way. i dont think writting is easy, people can definatly learn how to write but ive only ever read a few books that actully have made me sink into the story and actually feel the way the characters are feeling and being apart of the story!
