Anyone ever known a brave reportnik/ Is there any way I can find out who did it?

Anyone ever known someone who reports to be brave enough to admit it?

I have had a violation notice. I suppose it's from an anti-feminist. I have never reported anyone no matter how insulting they are. I would email and talk about anything that bothered me before I'd dob someone in. I have had emails from fellows who were irked by things I've said and I think we have had decent and civil exchanges.

So is this big, strong fella or fella-peon going to be brave enough to email and discuss an issue or is this the usual strategy for cowards who can't deal with feminist truth ?

Is there any way that I can find out who reported?

Update:

It was an answer that was reported as a violation. The questioner and some of the other answerers were just flat out telling lies about something another poster said and I pointed that out; which was pertinent to the question asked.

Thanks all for your answers. Julie I like your point about the truth having bothered someone enough to do that.

MV - thanks - I didn't know it took more than one to do that. Bit of a worry when cowards clot together to obscure a point. I suppose they had no argument against it, since it was an obvious truth.

Again thanks all for your advice and comments.

Btw - how many violations does it take to lose my account? If that happens, do I lose the email addy as well?

Update 2:

Rebel I don't think I have violated any community guidelines. I have had very innocuous questions removed as well.

It's an interesting paradox that our fellows will tolerate something like pornography under the banner of freedom of speech and expression; yet some individuals feel it's ok to suppress speech that is harmless just because they disagree or can't counter it with a compelling argument.

As to the poster who is saying something snide about people being afraid of women like myself - I didn't say that, but you may draw your own conclusions from their actions. Afterall, they are the ones who are trying to silence me and who are hiding behind the veil of anonymity.

Update 3:

Yea Pricilla we live on - even on to another ID if we have to hey :)

Update 4:

Vicktoria who r u quoting and from where?

Btw: If someone is anonymous, then an attack on some nebulous nobody can't be personal.

No you can't find out and it wouldn't surprise me at all if this question were deleted. It takes more than one 'reportnik' to do the job anyway. They report in TEAMS. Ever notice how much crap Yahoo leaves alone? Its because the reportniks tend to be misogynists, not feminists. The decent people tend not to report (but they should).

*Its all up to Yahoo. There is no set amount of violations that cause one to lose their account. Violations are subjective, the "rules" open to interpretation. They don't have to provide you with any justification for what they do. And they don't. Don't forget that actual humans rarely read any of our posts - Yahoo is a machine. To them all you are is an IP#.

Yahoo is a private company. "Freedom of Speech" does not apply.

And as to your last concern, "no".

    No there isn't.

Maybe what you said was against the Terms of Service.

I'd like to quote you as you say..."It's very disappointing to see personal attacks - wow. It seems that some people can't just address the issue and evidence as presented in a rational manner."

This question violates the tos by making personal attacks on anonymous reporters who you think are anti-feminists without any proof. btw they are also members of the Yahoo Answers Community.

I'm not going to report you but you should remember your own words.

The only way you will find out is in the event the person comes forward; other than that your chances are nil. I've never reported anyone myself; after all doesn't the States abide by the 1st amendment; the one where you have the freedom of speech. I can be quite nasty so I have no right to report anyone; it's like calling the kettle black sort of thing. .

The way the system is set up, you never know who reported you. I've had several violations and I've only been here a short time but I couldn't care less. I can't stop them (whomever they are) from doing it so I don't waste my time worrying about it.

You know what? There is no telling who it is. I've gotten many violation notices in this forum, and no one will step up and say who it is. Usually, it is a troll or someone who just can't handle what you say, and they can have multiple accounts in order for you to get reported.

Sometimes by even seeing who else answered your question you can figure out who it is... although you really don't know for sure.

The only way to avoid this is to read the "Community Guidelines" and post questions and answers accordingly. If there is no violation, they will not erase the statement.

Nope...and you are right it's probably some anti-feminist conspiracy. While trying to overthrow the forces of feminism they just happen to want to start here on Yahoo.

typically if i disagree w/someone in a q i just burn them with my witty sarcasm. :)

the only time i've ever reported anyone is when the q was a threat to another member- i e-mailed her telling her that i was reporting her, to. she called me a *****. what ever.

so, you can't find out who reported you, but at least you have the satisfaction of knowing that someone was so bothered by the truth that they went out of their way to get it removed.
