  • Whatever happened to Hattie Jacque's lover John Schofield?

The brilliant Britsh comedienne who was married to John Le Mesurier had a car salesman/chauffeur lover for years who broke her heart. Some people think that she died of grief when her caddish lover broke it off when they were in Italy for a work project. I saw somewhere that he ran off with an Italian heiress.

I also heard that when Hattie's health broke down with the stress of the breakup that he walked into her hospital room and threw a gold locket that she'd given him on to her bed then just walked out again.

Does anyone know anymore about him?

    Where did he go?

    When did he die?

  • What is the name of the man who attacked Ilianexy Morales?

I can't find it anywhere, nor can I find any court transcripts. Is his name being actively suppressed and if so, why?

  • What is the name of the man who attacked Ilianexy Morales?

The attacker's name isn't mentioned in any news reports and I can't locate the court transcript.

If we can't find his name - why is the name of a convicted person being suppressed?

  • What are your thoughts about the petition for Wikileaks?

    The petition states:

"To the U.S. and other governments and corporations involved in the crackdown on WikiLeaks:

We call on you to stop the crackdown on WikiLeaks and its partners immediately. We urge you to respect democratic principles and laws of freedom of expression and freedom of the press. If WikiLeaks and the journalists it works with have violated any laws they should be pursued in the courts with due process. They should not be subjected to an extra-judicial campaign of intimidation."

  • For how long does someone with MRSA take daily doses of colloidal silver?

I am reading articles on colloidal silver. I realize that some people say it's a scam and others praise it as effective.

I haven't found any information on how LONG people propose to take their daily dose.

Does anyone know how long someone with MRSA would take it?

  • If feminism didn't exist, would there be any man-hating?

Anti-feminist propaganda portrays feminists as man-haters.

So imagine a society without feminists - what do you see ?

  • Any recommendations for movies that portray positive male role models?

I'd especially be interested in any that show how someone can be strong and powerful without resorting to violence - like, strong in a Ghandi sorta way, and especially any that compare violence that we don't like (like DV; bullying and so on) with images of positive strength.

Anyone have any recommendations to make ?

How did they do it? What caused them to change from being an abuser ? What works for these people ?

  • Men on GWS, why should feminists like you ?

Anti-feminist men who post here are always whining that feminists are man-haters. I and others have explained repeatedly that feminists do not hate men, and that a woman who dislikes men doesn't have to be a feminist to feel that way.

None of you accept what is explained on the topic.

So, using your own framework (ie: the working assumption that you prospose 'feminists hate men') - please explain what there is about men to like.

Why *should* feminists like men ?

  • Has a movie been made featuring a female as US President ?

We've seen the movies introduce the idea of a black President ( Bruce Almighty; Deep Impact). Have the movies yet shown us a female as US President ? I just can't recall one.

  • Anyone ever known a brave reportnik/ Is there any way I can find out who did it?

Anyone ever known someone who reports to be brave enough to admit it?

I have had a violation notice. I suppose it's from an anti-feminist. I have never reported anyone no matter how insulting they are. I would email and talk about anything that bothered me before I'd dob someone in. I have had emails from fellows who were irked by things I've said and I think we have had decent and civil exchanges.

So is this big, strong fella or fella-peon going to be brave enough to email and discuss an issue or is this the usual strategy for cowards who can't deal with feminist truth ?

Is there any way that I can find out who reported?

  • Fathers frequently invent allegations of child neglect to be awarded custody. Myth or Fact ?

This is a mirror of a question posed here:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aup1H...

My personal opinion is that people who get involved in custody disputes may do and say all sorts of things, especially if they believe that they need to protect their children. Some will do unthinkable things just to maintain control over the partner or perhaps as payback.

My point is that I don't believe that these behaviours, when they occur, are the province of women alone. If anyone thinks they are please explain why men wouldn't also tell such lies.

  • What are the main problems and injustices you see for women in non-Western countries ?

I saw amongst responses to an earlier question that some men said that feminism was undesirable and shouldn't spread to other countries.

Do these people not see any problems for women in non-Western countries ? If they see problems for women, how do they think they are going to be solved and by whom.

  • Why are these men in such denial ?

    I asked a question here:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200804...

It contained two pieces of evidence:

    1. Men on the menarebetterthanwomen site blaming women (one wanting them to die) for the way men are portrayed in a few shows.

    2. Links to information on each of the shows; setting out the names of producers, writers, directors and distributors that are overwhelmingly male.

That is, evidence that men are creating and propagating images of masculinity of which men disapprove.

Not one man has yet, in response, acknowledged that women (feminism as well) are being wrongly blamed for media portrayals of masculinity. Not one male has turned up yet with the guts to say something like, "Gee didn't realize that but, damn, I'm gonna write a letter of complaint to those fellas who are making money by screwing us over."

How can men be in such denial? Why not take the men responsible to task (afterall, they're making money off it) ?

  • Why do men portray masculinity this way and then blame women ?

Another thing I would like to bring up. How do you feel about the media’s portrayal of men in recent years. It seems that on many shows, men are being portrayed as lazy, fat and unbelievably stupid men with beautiful, perfect, intelligent wives who kindly and patiently accept all of thier flaws. Shows that immediantly come to mind are Family Guy (awesome show), King of Queens, and the movie Knocked Up. I feel personaly that this is unfair - even though often very funny.

None of it is at all funny. It all Anglo-Saxon ‘Princesses on Pedestals’ repressive horse-****. If more women were made to ‘bite the kerb’, this world would be a better place.

  • What can men do to avoid being raped by other men ?

Many people think that rape and sexual assault can only happen to women. But about three percent of American males have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime, according to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, in Washington, D.C.

Most victimizers of males are other males, who force their victims to have anal or oral penetration, and often beat them. Male sexual victimization is rarely talked about, and many myths about male rape and sexual assault contribute to the silence.

“Our ’macho’ culture declares that males, even young boys, are not supposed to be victims of assault.”

    http://www.sexetc.org/story/abuse/1879

I notice a focus on what women should do to avoid being raped (blame the victim), while the fact that men are also victims is completely ignored.

    - if it's fair to ask what women should do to avoid being victimized, then there must be things that men should be doing to avoid victimization too.
