Should I have the metal plate in my arm removed?
I'm 25 years old and enjoy sports like basketball and snowboarding. Over a year ago I had a metal plate installed in my forearm to correct a broken bone. Should I risk additional nerve damage to have it removed? What is the risk of leaving it in? I lift weights and I've noticed that sometimes there's a tight feeling in the muscles around the plate. Has anyone else experienced that?

I don't have a plate but I do have screws...I asked my doctor that very question...he said the only reason you need to have it removed is if it is bothering me. they don't hurt but if i bump my wrist in that very location it hurts more that it would on the other side. I would only get it removed if I was in pain from it... but also talk to you doctor.
