This question gets asked a lot and it still bothers me when people give the same answer?

When someone asks a question like who is the greatest tag team or who is ur favorite tag team and they give a list to choose from of course the list always has DX on it...what everyone fails to see is that DX isnt a tag team there a STABLE...early 90's it started off Triple H, HBK, Chyna and Rick Rude...then broke of into Triple H, X-Pac, Billy Gun and Road Dogg...then in 2006 it became Triple H and HBK again but they werent a true tag team cuz u cant have the two biggest singles competetiors being called a tag team they where just a huge merchandise and marketing scam for the younger kids...real tag teams where The Road Warriors...New Age Outlaws, Hardys, Edge & Christian, Dudelys, MNM and so on and so on...DX=STABLE....DUDELYS=TAG TEAM

Remember that most of the users here are very young, and probably didn't get to see the earlier incarnations of DX. To them, DX is Triple H and Shawn Michaels. And they seem to team often enough to be considered a tag team by the younger users here.

It's really up to us (the older fans) to help educate the younger fans and new users (and do so without being insulting). You just did that, with your explanation of DX. Hopefully some of them will read your question and learn something.

You forget that Edge / Christian was part of "The Brood" when they made it into the main stream. But people accepted them as a tag team, just like they did when Triple H and Shawn Michael's paired back up and DX during it's period have held the tag team titles several times. So I think the reason you hear DX so much is because of their popularity with the crowd. I can't really pick a favorite tag team out of today's tag teams there just any good ones right now.but some of my favorites of all time was: Road Warriors, The Steiner Brothers, The Fabulous Ones. This is all just my opinion on why you get the same answers.

    Good point.

The thing is, most people asking the tag team related questions were not savy to wrestling in the "degenerate" days.

Also, though HBK and Triple H are very charismatic, I prefer HBK as a singles competitor, and didn't really see them as an impactful team. They were on top for a while, but their in-ring work seemed like two singles matches at once.

As far as great teams go, I look at records. Teams like Bubba & D-Von, Misawa & Kobashi, Edge & Christian. Teams where you can remember both members equally, without consitering a leader and a follower.

I'm starting to ramble so I'll shut up now.

I agree with you to a point that DX is a stable and not a tag team, but when DX is added to the list, it's implied that it's the HHH and HBK tag team and every wrestling fan knows that. The only other viable team would have been Gunn and Dogg and they were collectively known as the New Age Outlaws.

I agree with you to an extent.

MN Heat made a point about the Dudleys, but after ECW, they were a tag team (he knows that, though). I agree that two singles wrestlers thrown together as a "dream team" is not a true tag team. A true Tag Team works most of their matches together and aren't thrown together just because of a storyline or a scenario like John Cena and HBK.

One pairing that I get annoyed hearing about is Edge and Randy Orton: they are not a real tag team, and only were around until DX was gone.

Ha, the Dudleys were a stable too. There was Buh Buh Ray, D'von, Dudley, Big Dick, Dances With, Little Spike, Studley, Sign Guy, etc.

Irregardless, I get your point, and I agree with you 100%. I asked a week or so ago who the greatest tag team in the world today is, and I got a bunch of DX answers. They aren't a tag team, and they should not be teaming up regularly. Even when they started, they weren't really a tag team. HBK and HHH had their own individually achievements. They just watched each other's backs.

No. When I post questions I never be thinking about how many answers I get. If I only get a few answers then I am happy with that. To answer your question I don't post the same question so soon. I might leave it for a month or two to see if I get a different response. If you the same question so soon someone will answer it by saying I answered that yesterday or whatever and you don't want that happening. At least if you leave it for awhile people will have forgotten about it and you have a better chance of getting new people to answer.

Yeah. Just like I've always argued that the Brothers of Destruction are just a bunch of maineventers thrown together from time to time, and not a real tag team.

Edge and Christian are my favourite tag team ever, btw.
