    follow your instincts.

Personally, I would hate to live by the commandments and not enjoy life fully only to be 95 years old and find out its all a lie.

The Bible is a gift from God, one for which we can be truly grateful. This unique book reveals things that we could never find out otherwise. For example, it tells us about the creation of the starry heavens, the earth, and the first man and woman. The Bible contains reliable principles to help us cope with life’s problems and anxieties. It explains how God will fulfill his purpose and bring about better conditions on the earth. What an exciting gift the Bible is!

The Bible is also a heartwarming gift, for it reveals something about the Giver, Jehovah God. The fact that he has provided such a book is proof that he wants us to get to know him well. Indeed, the Bible can help you to draw close to Jehovah.

If you have a copy of the Bible, you are far from alone. In whole or in part, the Bible has been published in more than 2,300 languages and thus is available to more than 90 percent of the world’s population. On the average, more than a million Bibles are distributed each week! Billions of copies of either the whole Bible or part of it have been produced. Surely, there is no other book like the Bible.

Furthermore, the Bible “is inspired of God.” (2 Timothy 3:16) In what way? The Bible itself answers: “Men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21) To illustrate: A businessman might have a secretary write a letter. That letter contains the businessman’s thoughts and instructions. Hence, it is really his letter, not the secretary’s. In a similar way, the Bible contains God’s message, not that of the men who wrote it down. Thus, the entire Bible truthfully is “the word of God.”—1 Thessalonians 2:13.

You can't really prove the bible is the true word of God. Since you can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God. Also, take that prophecy thing the other guy was mentioning. (for one divination of any sort is against the teachings of the bible) but more importantly, all of that probability with the prophecies could be negated if the bible was written after Jesus's life. Also, there is no proof the bible was written by one person, who even the others. It has been two thousand years. There is no one alive who could have witnessed it. Additionally, I do not know about anyone who wrote about the authors of each of the books of the bible.

I have heard of other methods of proving the bible. One was merely fact checking, but thats awful two. I could write a story about modern day Phoenix (my home city) just because the city exists, and maybe the characters exist, doesn't make the story true.

Like everyone else, all you have is faith. You should be happy, the Bhagavad Gita (the book of my religion) was written about 1000 years after it was spoken. I don't accept it as the word of God, but its the message portrayed that is important.

You shouldn't - it's propaganda, indoctrination - if you want the truth in life - go out in to the world and experience it and take especial notice of how Nature works and behaves - for Nature's awesome power works from Logic and the fundamental need to survive - it is the only true path to follow.

You are correct in your appraisal - praying is a waste of time - where as planning is not!

Don't follow other peoples dogma, whether it be from the person you spoke to up the road five minutues ago to some religious icon who died thousands of years ago. Just look at how Nature performs and how it is constanly evolving.

EVOLUTION is the key to everything that functions properly!

Follow your instincts not somebody else's. You say you are a catholic - well Catholicism is based on repression and control of the individual like most religions - a way of controlling the masses. DON'T BE CONTROLLED BY ANYONE - OK???!

You only get one chance (as far as we know) at this life - so don't live someone else's - live you OWN!!!

Source(s): My weird, warped and colourful brain and experience of living on this rock for quite awhile! Am I a troll would you say - were you emotionally provoked by my answer?!!!

No one can prove to anyone that the bible is really God's holy word. You either take it by faith of you don't believe. I have studied it enough to know it has to be the true word of God. The more I study the more I believe. There are too many reasons why I believe to put them all here in this answer. That is why I will only say I take it by faith. And then to each their own.

No proof! Good stories maybe but I don't believe, sounds like any other fairytale to me. I just live my life with my own morals and standards. Why are so many of the wars in the world about religion? I have found catholics, and other religions as being so hypocrital it's a joke.! (Catholic priests raping young boys etc....) Just humour your family if you need to, to keep the peace but by all means but do what you think is best for you, you won't go to hell! :)

Trust your hearth, You don't need proof for every thing. If you believe in God just pray for him any way you feel better and He will guide you to the right path. Prayers is not a waste of time it is the food for the soul which we humans need it. You don't need a book to come between you and God, Your honesty is enough.

i do no longer comprehend you. Your evidence is largely some historic data? of direction you may locate chariots and ineffective people and horses on the backside of any river. of direction you will locate razed cities everywhere in the international. yet how did you be able to locate their names? grew to become into there a billboard asserting "WELCOME TO SODOM AND GOMORRAH! inhabitants till now INVOKING GOD'S WRATH: a million,000,000"? No, there grew to become into no such situation. No archaeologist who has no schedule to "tutor" that those cities existed might declare them to be this or that. And "the tower of Babel"? the place have you ever been those final century? of direction there are ziggurats in the mesopotamian area; In Iraq, Iran you come across some nonetheless status. Bible is a e book that tells historic activities from the narrow attitude of a trifling participant of that era: the Hebrews. So does that tutor something? you're conversing approximately Jesus sitting on the appropriate hand of God the daddy? What has "the tower of Babel" have been given to do with that? in case you tutor people a photograph of a ziggurat, does that tutor that God the daddy did so and so? you're able to enhance your horizon and be extra mature. people existed till now Christianity and that they did good issues and additionally terrible issues and no account of their deeds in a non secular textual content textile makes that textual content textile extra actual or much less actual.

There is not once scrap of evidence for the bible. Surely there would be records of Jesus besides the bible? Nope. Evidence of the flood? Nope. Evidence of christs execution? Nope, and the romans where throuroug recorders.

On whoever said the bible proves itself: circular logic = null and void, plus illogical.

The only aspect of the bible that is true is that it consists of writings from different sources, so it was not one guy who wrote it all.

About the rest, e.g. whether or not he turned water into wine: no proof. Follow agnosticism and wait until someone proofs something before claiming its truth.

You have to look for the supernatural phenomenas, prophecies, or any other thing that humans cannot do (in short Miracles) and so on, if you find anything like that then the Book is true >>> so many prophets and so many books, but the one who has the truth will deliver it. my advice search for prophecies being fulfilled and you will find the truth
