Why is everyone wearing white!?!?

Ok, first off I'm a Detroiter and Wings fan so...go Wing!!!

But what I want to know is who was the idiot marketing planner in Pittsburg that thought it was a good idea to give away white t-shirts to all the fans. Didn't they realize that their arena's seats are red and by giving the fans white shirts makes it look like the game is being played in Detroit not Pittsburg. What was so hard about getting more appropriate home team colors to give away?

I was watching game 3 and the announcers said it was Crosby's idea....

You make a good point. They should at least wear their colors, not a neutral color like white so it looks like they're all Wings fans.

It doesn't look so bad when the arena is full, during the game, and they just pan up to the stands.

But with the red seats...during the pre game coverage I thought it was in detroit and asked myself, "is this game 5, I thought it was game 4"... so your bang on about the seats.

And I imagine white t-shirts are the cheapest kind, so they're probably just giving them away as a promotion of team spirit, but I don't really know. And its probably easy to ask fans, "wear a white t-shirt", everyone has a white t-shirt.

Not sure if Winnepeg/Calgary were the first, but back in the Mid 80's the Jets had a "white out" (everyone wore white) and Calgary had the Sea/C of Red. Pheonix has also done the "white out". Its an home team intimdation thing. Of all the colours White seems to show the most.

HeHe I didn't notice that until you just said that !

    Good Job Dude

The White Out is A Great Idea for the Pens (Are they Coming from Greenland?) but Red + White = WINGS!

At least it does not look like the Philly game when everyone wore orange shirts and it looked like the place was totally empty since it matched the seats so well.

first, it's called a white-out ... duhhhhhhhh. and second of all when the arena is full to capacity (ohh wait, you're a wings fan so you don't know what a full arena looks like) you don't see the red seats and it looks like its snowing and a penguins habit is mostly in the snow. use some common sense, seriously.

They are morons like that. They should have went with black or maybe gold. Since the home uniform has no white it really is a stupid move.
