Okay so its a little long but heres what I do. I am allergic to sunscreen and have extremely fair skin so I get sunburned ALL of the time.

First: Take a couple of aspirin or ibuprofen to reduce inflammation,, and to take the edge off.

Second: Take a cool shower. Dont use any body wash on it or anything. Just use it to cool down a bit.

Third: Steep a black teabag in ice water for three minutes. Then take the teabag, and slowly(and gently!) run it over the burned areas. Keep dipping it back in the tea and applying it to the burn until you have thouroughly saturated your skin. Let it dry. (This works because the tannic acid in the black tea helps to literally draw the burn up from your skin. It works, I swear.)

Fourth: Get a cotton ball or cotton pad and soak it in Apple Cider Vinegar. Gently apply it all over on top of the dried tea. This will prevent the skin from blistering and in most cases stop it from peeling before it even has a chance to start. Yes, you will smell awful, buts its worth it in the long run.

Fifth: If its still severe, you can use an aloe vera gel thats been in the fridge. I dont generally do this, but some people do, its really just up to you.

Hope this helps you! I know its alot but it really does work and it heals burns the fastest.

Note that if your going to go somewhere, only use the tea and aloe vera, and save the smelly vinegar for nighttime. And depending on how fair you are, you may need to carefully wipe off the dried tea with cool water before you go somewhere because it can darken your skin a bit. (Only while its on, nothing permanent)

unfortunately time is the only healing for a sum burn. If you have lots of bubbles and pealing skin you need to go see a doctor. bad sunburns can lead to infections and sometimes death!

You can soak in a tub with vinegar added to it. It will help the stinging. DO NOT use soap on the first night! It farther dries out the skin and makes it hurt more!

I got a sunburn across my back and on my arms a little. I put after sun on ( lots of it) and I read that if you fill a pitcher with warm water and put 3 tea bags in it and wait till it's black. Then you put an old towel you don't mind getting stained and put the towel on the sunburn and repeat. By doing this it will reduce the burning!

Trust me, I know what you mean. Sunburn looks bad and feels bad too. There are things you can do to make it heal faster, and prevent further burning, like drinking lots of water and taking cold showers. Check out this article: http://www.ehow.com/how_2324008_rid-sunburn-fast.h...

Hmm not sure but you could get a cold bath and maybe that could make it feel better. I had a bad sunburn on my face yesterday and i had a shower that night and it didn't hurt any more and when i woke up it was almost gone and it didn't hurt and it just looked like a i had blush on. And i suggest you should put sun screen on when you go outside. So i think it will work if you take a shower or bath but i suggest bath because of the steam and it doesn't have to be cold. I guarantee it will work. Good luck!

There really is no way to get rid of it. It's a burn, and it is going to take some time to heal.

You can use some aloe based lotions and solarcaine to sooth the pain, and keep it moist.

But, unfortunately there is nothing you can do to make it go away fast.

It may even blister before it peels.

Most people like to use aloe gel that's been put in the fridge. I've also known people who swore by spreading Noxema cream on themselves ( the kind in the jar). Solarcane is a spray with a numbing agent in it that may help if it's really bad.

If you can take aspirin that will help it gel and quit hurting...follow the dosage, don't take extra.Tylenol is good too. Aloe sunburn gel is great and cool baths help.

You'll want to keep your skin moisturized when it starts healing to keep from peeling.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Aloe Vera.. I used this Aloe that had Menthol in it.. and it was like heaven! It was cooling and it relieved my sunburn in two days. It went from red, itchy, hot, and burnt to less red and less irritated by the end of that day.

Stay out of the sun, take a cool shower and the inflamation should go down.
