what else is she doing? is she reaching her other milestones re fine and gross motor control, verbal, etc? generally a happy, contented baby with normal reactions to frustration such as outburts of temper or crankiness?
if so, i wouldn't sweat it.
if she's behind in other areas or even just to ease your mind, you might want to have a chat with your paediatrician.
one thing that occurred to me: what are your floors? if your floors are slippery, that would be pretty discouraging.
another thing: when was the last time anybody took a look inside her ears? my second daughter was a late walker/stander and it turned out she had a silent ear infection. no idea how long she'd had it but it took *months* to get rid of and it left her with permanent learning disability.

Both my daughters started walking when they were 11 months. I was told that that was even late! Try not to worry. Encourage your little one to walk holding onto both your hands. Sometimes it could be just lack of interest, nothing else. But do have a chat with your health visitor. They can usually give you great advice.
Oh and a tip for everyone, putting shoes on a baby who cannot walk just makes it worse for baby to learn to walk. They should learn to walk on their feet, getting the balance and feeling right. Only when they are confident walkers or if you're going out and about do you need to put them in shoes.

My daughter is almost 15 months and not walking yet either. Average walking age is 14-18 months. It is recommended that if a child isn't walking by 18 months, she should be referred to a specialist to find out if there is anything physically wrong, or to a physiotherapist to try to her her. However, a child is not considered delayed in walking until 22 months.

My son was walking by 10 months but my daughter (now 13 and a half months) used to bum shuffle and has just recently started crawling. She hasn't attempted to walk yet. Health visitor said if she is not walking soon they will assess her but I wouldn't be too worried as all babies are different. If it concerns you after a while, speak to your health vistor or G.P.

She is already late in walking skill. Call Early Intervention or Birth to 3 (goverments agencies than work with children under 3, dependin where you live). They evaluate your child & provide the help she needs... A friend's son had this kind of problem. He wasn't walking by his 18 months. The agency found he has low tone mass. His regular Dr. missed it, he used to say to my friend her son was ok, she just has to wait. He recieved Physical therapy for over a year & registered him in a Gymboree class which helped him a lot. The evaluation is free & the therapies' payment will depent on your economical situation...

My third child didn't start walking until she was nearly three years old although her brother and two sisters were all walking by 18 months, so if you have had her checked regularly at the baby clinic (for things like disloated hip, for example) I do not think there is anything to worry about.

I have 2 kids and both my children were walking at 10 months, but my sister didn't start walking until she was 20 months. If i was you i would have the doctor look at that, not to alarm you but the doctors found out that my sister was autistic and that is why she started walking so late. She is now 6 years old.

You should see your pedatrician and voice your concerns. See what the Dr. says. If you are not happy with the answer the Dr. gives you, or even if you are, I would advise that you ask for a referral to a pediatric physical therapist. Your child can be evaluated and the physical therapist will be able to tell you whether your child has a developmental delay that needs attention or if your child is just moving at her own pace.

not all babies will walk in a early age!! they have to tell themselves that they have to be ready to take on that big leap and they have to trust themselves before they can walk!!!! Most babies will crawl for a while and when they have the trust in themselves they will walk! Babies now a days don't learn to stand on there own until they are almost 20 months unless you work with them constantly!!! My baby didn't learn to walk until she was 21 months old!!!!!

My daughter was 11 months old when she stood holding on
About 12 months when she stood without hoding on.
13 and a half months when she walked with a baby walker and 16 months old when she walked on her own.
My mum said I was 18 months before I walked.
Every child learns at their own rate but it may be worth having a chat with your doctor or health visitor to put your mind at rest
