I'm moving more toward Buddhism.... because there's no required God... just common sense and respect for others.

Do you really want an essay? I better keep my thoughts short ;-)
I'm Christian, liberal Christian, very very liberal Christian, okay, because I was raised that way and it's really in my heart. I think I could just as easily be in another path if it had the same emotional impact on me that Christianity has.
That said, the nicest God as described popularly (that I am aware of) is Ganesha, the god with the elephant face in Hinduism. He is joyful, he removes obstacles.
However, the God I worship isn't a cruel God, and heck, maybe Ganesha is just an aspect of the one God. I'm not going to split theological hairs. God is love and that's all that matters to me. The rest is helpful, though at times it all complicates things.
Upsides to Christianity: easier to find a church than with many other religions, in my community at least. And it's got a hold on me anyway.
Downsides to Christianity: Many Christians think they can tell you if you're a "real" Christian or not. We liberal gay Christians who like Tarot cards and goth metal have to really go church shopping if we want to feel really comfy being ourselves in a church community.
Whew. That's about as short as I can make it.

That is subjective, and can't be answered helpfully by people who say "none of it is real anyway". do you see god as someone who want's to punish you? Loves you? I can't even define what "MY" religion is. But I like the idea of the Wicca Ideals. It's about doing good deeds and they will come back to you 7 times over. It's about the elements of nature. There is no punisher, no judgement, just people wanting to live in harmony. You decide what is right for you and offers you the most comfort

The Unitarian-Universlist Church (seen Protestant) has room for every person: Christians, Buddists, deists, agnostics, atheists, gays, lesbians, believers, and non-believers alike. From Wikipedia: "Unitarian Universalism is a faith without creedal standards imposed on its contributors. It values non secular pluralism and respects diverse traditions... Unitarian Universalists are unlikely to assert that theirs is the "basically" or perhaps the "maximum suitable" way available to ascertain meaning or theological truths... Many Unitarian Universalists evaluate themselves humanists, on an analogous time as others carry to Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, organic theist, atheist, agnostic, pantheist, pagan, or different ideals. some decide for to attach no particular theological label to their very very own idiosyncratic mix of ideals. This variety of perspectives is oftentimes seen a power via those interior the Unitarian Universalist pass, because of the fact the emphasis is on the widely used seek for meaning between its contributors fairly than adherence to any particular doctrine. the nicest god is the one we make up and control by our own whims.
The True God is kind and merciful and mingles mercy with Judgment and Justice.
yet Hates Sin and Unrighteousness

Wicca. They have many gods and goddesses to choose from. I'm non-religious. To me this makes the most sense, because religion doesn't seem to make any sense.

My religion Has the nicest god, she brings me beer when I am thirtsty, Provides limitless gas for my pick-up, and weed of the finest quality grows in all my paths

Whichever one claims a god that gives his servants whatever they need, when they need it.
Oh, then you have to leave out the malady parts.
So, it wouldn't make any sense, because humans will never stop hurting each other.

Jesus. Not the father, but Jesus.
Buddha is pretty cool too.
I can't really support this question because it's a hypothetical.

you will only get biased answers. the one who believes in a certain religion will pick theirs as they are most comfortable with that one.
