what are drawbacks of cats?

Absolutely None! Cats are perfect....humans are not!

Being a cat AND dog owner I will tell you they both have good things about them and bad. CATS, drawbacks are their hair shedding in the spring and humans. Yes humans. You can always tell an irresponsible cat owner the second you walk thought their door. The smell gives it away. Also, unless you give them proper things to scratch and play with, your going to have torn up furniture. Another human problem.

I'm a cat lover so i wouldn't say many bad things about them. They are great pets. No need to walk them and they are pretty much born house broken. the only draw back that i can think of is the hair. They shed. No more and no less than a dog. So there is no big difference there.

when you get a cat, you don't know how it's going to behave.

luckily for us, we have a friendly, gorgeous four year old cat, that was easy to house train and we've never had any trouble with him.

but there's no guarantee that your cat will stay with you, because they're independent creatures that, unlike dogs, don't make very strong attachments to thier owners.

to be honest, you never really own a cat; it's just an animal that lives with you.

that's not to say they're spiteful or unappreciative, but more cats than dogs go missing, simply because it's in thier nature.

also, you can't play fetch with a cat.

When I look at the beautiful face of my precious companion I think she is a perfect cat. But I know that she is one of the cruellest critters we have in our back yard. Cats will kill birds and other wildlife, playing with it as a toy. They shred furniture, carpets and curtains. They dig their claws in as they make their favourite spot on your lap comfortable for them.

Yet I love my little companion. She has sharp claws and she knows she may not use her claws on me or my friends.

I too am a cat lover, but they do leave piles of fur wherever they go, especially at the beginning of spring/summer. They are their own bosses, can't tell them what to do. They are affectionate and loving when they want to be and well worth having! Go for it.

They'll pee on the carpet if you're not nice to them. Just like women, they can be spiteful and vindictive so treat them right.

Only the litter box. they are indepenant and human loving.

well if they pee in the house, it smells AWFUL, and its very hard to get that smell out
