will fasting help me lose weight fast?

well not fasting id eat a bowl of fruit for breakfast and sugar free leamonade the rest of the day and thats all will it help me lose weight

(please dont just tell me its unhealthy i know that)

    The trouble is, is that your metabolism will drop so low, so that your body doesn't starve. And then when you ever eat anything more, like a potato even, your metabolism will be so low that it will be like eating 5 or 10 potatoes when you eat that one. So I say, don't bother. Excercise, eat lots of healthy food like raw veggies, stay away from dairy and meat too if you can help it and you'll lose weight like a son of a gun. Take the raw vegan diet for instance. It can be a very very healthy diet, and you'll lose all excess weight. You'll have the best of both worlds. Health and slim, if slim is what you want of course.

    As for just fasting to lose weight, I've fasted for other reasons, and I always lose weight while fasting, and always put it back on after the fast.

    You already know it's unhealthy so I won't say so. I will tell you that fasting is not good because it slows down the metabolism.

    Try to eat 4-5 small, healthy meals during the day because it helps to speed up the metabolism. Also factor in some exercise, too.

    Yes, I fasted for 5 days and I lost 3 pounds. I'm not kidding.

    The bodybuilding community recommends you to eat 5- 8 small meals everyday to lose weight and warns you of disaster if you skip even one meal. who has time for that seriously ? People in the east practice fasting for cleansing, theraupautic reasons and religious reasons maybe once a week or twice a week- it keeps you healthy , detoxifies your body they claim. a lot of people do it along with yoga. i have tried it once a week for 2 months and lost weight and felt more active and alive.

    I'm fasting, just been three days already I've lost weight.

    But I do understand that it's an unhealthy way.

    Yes it will and then your body will start eating your muscle. How about eat five small meals a day and drink only water. Exercise and lift weights, and OMG you won't look sick your going to look toned and lifted instead of saggy and drained. BTW you could start losing your hair on such a diet....

    but if your fasting to detox great for your organs but make sure your being supervised by your doctor....

    Hi,

    yes, you will lose weight.

    you say you know how incredibly unhealthy that is.

    you will also have digestive issues, most likely diarrhea.

    and, to make it even better, your body will store fat in unsightly places like your tummy and thighs because it never knows when it will receive nutriment again.

    how about you just eat a healthy balanced diet, high in fiber, have 6 small healthy meals a day to keep your metabolism on high and your fat retention on low, drink 8 glasses or so of water a day, and exercise?

    eat plenty of fruits and vegetables of various colors to maximize nutrient intake. concentrate on exercises that burn calories without building up a ton of muscles... you will look and feel a lot better, and lose weight while keeping your body healthy.

    NEVER go hungry.

    I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

    yes, you will lose weight. it will be a lot at first (for instance, when i fast - which means no food at all, but you wouldn't eat much on this so it'd probably be about the same - i lose 4 pounds for the first two days, then 2 pounds for the next two days). then it will slow down to about 1 a day. i like your method of eating something in the morning, that way your metabolism doesn't slow down to a complete halt, and you are making a good choice by choosing fruit as it will stick with you and give you vitamins. i will probably try this method too! you should tell me how it goes. oh and be sure to drink a lot of water! (this will help you lose weight too, and help the "flushing" process).

    Not at all.. Not eating anything for ages .. Makes your body go into starvation mode .. It then craves bad foods high in fat or sugar .. Also as soon as you start eating again the weight will go straight back on and you will loose mussel mass and it gos to fat because you body holds onto the food when you start eating again
